EcoFlowDelta Max 2000 Review and 220w Solar Panel Review. I test the Delta Max by using it to run my power tools, angle grinders both big and small.
EcoFlow Delta Max - (Sponsored link)
au.ecoflow.com/products/delta...
www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09ZV36Z...
I then make a set of Bookends for a bookcase out of Railway Track by cutting two pieces of track on an angle using a 9-inch angle grinder, the whole project was powered by the Delta Max 2000. The full video of the Railway Track Book End project will be up on my channel soon.
I enjoyed putting the Delta Max to the test, to decide if the delta would be a good asset to have in our home if there was a power outage, or if we found ourselves in an emergency situation. My answer to that is a very big "YES", plus this unit does not need to just sit there waiting for an emergency to be used, I can use it in my normal lifestyle when we are camping on the side of the river, or doing a bit of DIY type work, plus added bonus using the solar panel to get that lovely free power.
This Delta is a perfect match for me. The 220w solar panel impressed me also, I feel even more confident in them as I have tested them in very cloudy conditions and they still performed well
Hope you found something of use in my video or at least found it entertaining.

Somewhat of a change from your usual videos isn't it?🤔 I like it.😃 Seems like it'd come in as a right handy and reliable backup if a generator couldn't perform the task. Maybe reserve it for smaller draining appliances to further extend battery life if solar charging was your only option. That high wattage charging rate even when the sun was partially blocked was really impressive. Thanks Gavin.👍 BTW, liked the bookends too.😉

Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment, I am sure this will get quite a bit of use here with my DIY projects, we should have mostly nice days now that spring is here, I plan to just use the solar to charge it, making it all free power to play with. Thank you for your comment.

For those interested, I have used an 8000 BTU window AC on the Main Delta Max 2000 with Extra Smart battery for about 8 hours cooling in the house set at 73 degrees faranheit. It wasn't hot and compressor did not come on much. I used only about 1/3 of the capability of the 2 batteries.

@GavinClarkdiy
@GavinClarkdiy Жыл бұрын
I think the best thing is to keep the grinder moving all the time in circles, if you have a high section, take it all down together don't take one bit done then the next, check it all the time with a nice stiff ruler in lots of directions, I don't use it much but a belt sander works well for this sort of stuff. I hope that helps a bit.

No, sorry I haven't tested it on rough tracks, but it feels very solid, and it is a lithium battery, they advertise it for camping, I certainly will be taking it with me on my 4WD trips, it has a very solid handle at the top on both ends so I will be strapping it down using that. I have just got the protective cover to keep the dust out of it. I hope that helps you a bit. Jump on the website, and contact them, they will give you more info. Thank you for your comment, Cheers.

Hi Gavin, That's a pretty impressive little unit. While you were running the angle grinders, I couldn't help but wonder if it could power a small mig welder and if so, for how long? My portable gas generator can do it but it is loud and you get tired of it after a short time. Definetely a handy item. Thanks for the video! -mike
@GavinClarkdiy
@GavinClarkdiy Жыл бұрын
I have seen one running a MIG on youtube, but I have not tried mine, being old school as I am, I am a bit sceptical about doing it, also as it is not something I would use other than in a test to see if it would. I am sure if you ask the question on their website (Link is in the description) with your welder's specs, they would be able to tell you. I do agree generators get annoying after a while, and this would be a better setup, I wish you the best.

Projecta had a similar item they sold & it would also jump start anything up to 400 ton. It vanished off the market 12 months ago or more. This seems to be the only replacement. When people fully realise how useful these are they will sell in large numbers.

Worksite... how rugged is this unit? Will it survive bouncing around my truck bed tool box as I drive down a two-track to a remote site? How weatherproof is this unit? Can it survive... - all weather - in my truck bed tool box - only in the cab of my truck - indoor use only
@GavinClarkdiy

I haven't tested it on rough tracks, but it feels very solid, and it is a lithium battery, they advertise it for camping, I certainly will be taking it with me on my 4WD trips, it has a very solid handle at the top on both ends so I will be strapping it down using that. I have just got the protective cover to keep the dust out of it. I don't see it as indoor only, but I don't see myself leaving it outside the tent all day in the weather ether, etc. I won't have mine sliding around in the tray of my truck I will keep it safe away from things sliding or dropping things onto it, and just run a lead from it. Waterproof? It says not to get it wet so that answers that question. Thats my thoughts anyway. Hope that helps, check out the webesite for more info.

Gavin, A VERY IMORTANT INSTRUCTION, DO NOT CHARGE THE BATTERY FROM AC WALL OUTLET AND USE THE REAR AC OUTLETS AT THE SAME TIME, IT TRIPS AN INTERNAL PROTECTOON CIRCUIT THAT WILL MAKE IT IMPOSIBLE TO CHARGE THE BATTERY USING WALL OUTLET, REQUIRING YOU TO SEND IT BACK TO ECOFLOW. I FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY. 0:13

@GavinClarkdiy Жыл бұрын
Thank you Dave, I have done just what you have said a number of times and have had no problem, maybe I am not drawing much from the unit, of not much charge going in, but so far I have not had any troubles. Did Ecoflow tell you this when you returned your unit to them.

I have copied this from their website there is more info there if you want to have a look. "With a 220W primary side, and a 155W side on the back for ambient light, you can capture up to 25% more solar energy and charge your portable power station even faster. Try a mirrored surface and you can get up to 80% more energy." There is a link in the description under the video, I hope this helps.
