Last time I checked your trailer batteries are being charged by your tow vehicles alternator when you are driving. As long as your 7 way is hooked-up and your engine is running they will be charging

A modular system that's easy to set up, good idea. Kind of like a Bose stereo system versus a set of mix and match separate components that most people don't know how to set up or don't want to mess with. In this day and age, I think more people will pay extra for ease of use.

How many solar panels would it take to produce 15Kwh of energy, which I’m assuming would either be used immediately or stored in the batteries? Could you give us a scenario of power usage that would be required for one day period that includes a 15K BTU air conditioner? Also, how many cycles the batteries would last? Also, if a 2200w generator could be used to to feed into the system on rainy/cloudy days? Also, a 15Kwh system would require three 5Kwh batteries, right? (270 lbs?) Could you give cost estimates? Thank you so much!

@Dirt, Most alternators on vehicles or vessels are small-house and carry an 'intermittent-duty' rating. A 'continuous-duty' alternator has a big-house, big fan, big brackets and supports, and a heavier belt... although many CD alternators are gear-driven. . Attempting to full-time drive a part-time alternator is probably a bad idea. . On our ExpeditionVehicle with the Cummins 505ci/8.3-liter, I measured, then mounted a big-house rated at 220-amps continuous. We keep the stock 'intermittent-duty' small-house as a spare.

Yellowstone and product reviews tend to be our most popular videos (in terms of views), so that’s what leads us in that direction.
