Just bought a Ecoflow 3 Plus and am using it in my RV. I previously converted my lead acid battery system to a 24v LiPO4 system. I use a stepdown buck converter to power my RV 12 systems. Pleasantly the solar inputs will take 15amps each at 24v. Together I feed it 30amps from my big battery. Everything is powered by panels on the roof. System works perfectly and gives me a long use of my AC appliances. I also can remove the Ecoflow for around the house tasks. Perfect setup.

Thank you for covering this. A couple of weeks ago you featured the Ecoflow River 3 and I went to the Ecoflow site and shopped around. I saw this Ecoflow Delta and it was cheaper than normal but I was just shopping at the time. Since you covered it in greater detail as to its features and it has your discount I decided to go ahead and purchase two of these. The fact that it can function as a UPS is the real feature that sealed the deal for me, oh and the LiFePo batteries. Currently in order to get a quality online UPS there is about a $1000 premium to get LiFePo in the same model. So this was a nice surprise.

I bought one today for $629 prime deal on Amazon. I then found your video. I plan to buy the alternator charger next. Perfect for the no sun days that we get a lot of in the PNW. ESPECIALLY during winter storms etc but I love the idea that you can charge it in around an hour off a dual fuel generator as well. I have the River also that I keep in the car. It has an adapter to trickle a battery at 100w from the EcoFlow so like a slow jump start.

Excellent vid as always. The only issue Ive found with these is customer service. Whether it be jackery Eco, Bluetti, etc.. when they have problems, a ton of folks dont get any support. Personally, I limit my budget to 500$. This way when they go tits up- and they will, I dont feel as bad.

Moving the expansion to the back is a good idea. On delta 2 you have it all hanging off the side, which is less practical for storing a stack in a closet or under a bench.

The differences between this one and delta 2 appears to be: 1) 1000w solar ports vs 500w 2) charges a little faster perhaps but not much more 3) expandable to 5000wh vs ?2000 wh? 4) fan vents are in front vs sides I'm not sure what the deal is with expandable capacity since you can buy ecoflows extra batteries or aftermarket lifepo4 12.8v batteries. Can somone explain pros + cons A/M vs ecoflow add on batteries?

Thanks for your review. One question is how do you intend to use a unit like this? It is not big enough to really run your house, so I would prefer to spend about the same money for multiple units to place around my house than get extra batteries. Also, from a car charging standpoint, will the device for higher charging rates work with a hybrid car? I have heard that my car does not have an alternator. What about electric cars? Is there a way to charge at higher rates for them? Thanks.

When it runs out of inputed power, it must be recharged from one of those three sources. Put all the lipstick you want on the pig, but it is still a pig. These units generate no electricity. Period.

@TheNatureGuy It is a battery for receiving electrical power from multiple sourses, not just the sun, storing it, and regurgitating it on demand. Input sources include solar panels, another battery, city-power via electrical plugs, a generator or alternator (powered by gas, propane, natural gas, or a vehicle motor), and likely other power sources (like wind turbines). Why name the battery a "solar" anything? It clearly has multiple input possibilities, only one of which is solar. Solar panels do create electricity from sunlight. So solar panels, themselves, might be called solar power generators. But not the box/battery that simply receives and stores power for later use. That is hardly a generator of any kind, let alone a solar generator. Technically, you seem to not understand facts. I will not venture a guess as to why.

It’s obviously not going to run your house AC system… but take this scenario for example You have a gas furnace, you have no power All you need is power to power the fan. And start the furnace. Boom… this system will give you heat for your entire HOUSE when you have no power. You just need a gas furnace. Or say you need your fridge to limp along for 10-12 hours while you have no power. This will do that.

The delta pro 3 needs to be $600-ish. Eco flow products are great in design and function but I truly do not understand who can afford them, other then content creators who are given the products or can write them off as deductions.

$600 for 4.1KWH is impossible in todays economy. You cannot even buy used LFP packs that originally had 4.1KWH for $600. Pipe dream IMO. $400/KWH is today's standard for cheap power stations.

When you add the cost of the battery, battery monitor, heat protector, inverter, no need for positive and negative cables, etc, all built into one unit, the price isn't that bad. And to be honest the Delta 2 has the same specs but can't charge with 1000watts of solar panels, it vents on the sides but besides that the power is the same and it would last just as long. That is $459.00 on this prime day and there are codes on KZbin reviewers for all ecoflow products that drop that down significantly and I think that's more than reasonable.

This price will go higher as process of currency devaluation moves along. I bot 2* of this very model. More useful than gold. Something noticed. This unit is not that heavy. While portable and lightness go together, you may need more reserve. If so buy one of the latest Ecoflow batteries. ($200) Now your set for all day/night outages. If you have a 200 W solar gen set you are good for months. Just disconnect the fridge, cook, reconnect, eat off magnetic 'hot plate'. Now, you don't need to eat cold chili from a can. Time to buy food that will 'keep'.` It's Important to realize. Democracy, in time will return. It ALWAYS has. * 2 x 110 =220 W (for that water well or devices)

I’m a little confused on how it can be expanded to 5 kW. I see one extra battery port ? if it connects to the Delta 2 extra battery that’s 2 kW if it’s connected to the DP3 battery that’s 4 kW, and if it’s connected to the delta 2 max extra battery that’s 3kw……where are they getting 5 from ?

Just a guess, but most expansion battery packs have dual ports so you can daisy-chain units together. The 5Kw total is probably max for this unit to handle safely.

You can add 1 delta pro 3 battery which is 4k wh . Add that to the 1k wh of the delta 3 plus and you get 5k total. The delta 3 plus handles 5k total with the included 1k wh

Though Ecoflow makes good batteries, My only gripe with them and most other brands are the prices. like this model here with a 30 percent discount is still $630. That is crazy expensive considering i may only use it a few times here and there when i could just get a used whole house LP or Natural gas for a little over $1300. plumber here...can it power a jackhammer? cant wait to get rid of my big generator...it takes 3 guys to lift it into the truck! but the little generators dont have enough power to run it...i dont know how much wattage my jackhammer pulls but it only has a double prong plug on it (no ground pin) but the wire is super thick...hilti brand

Its easy to tell If you know how much wh does that jackhammer uses when running? This Delta 3 supports 1800w constant loads so if your jackhammer has below that you should be good and for example it can run 1000 wh appliance for arlund 1 hr

@@Mitsu3kGTI’ve had my pecron battery for well over a year now in a harsh environment. It’s on my toolbox at work. It powers my box all day so that I don’t have to be tethered to a wall. It’s a 1000wh and I pretty much use all of it every day. Some days I do get it to 0% but not often but usually pretty close. I live on the N.C. coast at the beach and our shop is open so I get dust and heat and humidity. I’ve also used it during hurricanes when we lose power and taken it camping. I honestly don’t take care of it the way I should but it has stayed running good. So I don’t think it’s cheap at all. The only thing I don’t care for is my model has the external charger and it does feel cheap but it hasn’t given me an issue. The new ones the charger is built in to the unit.

So the battery designed for the non-Pro Delta 3 doesn’t seem like it’s released yet and I believe that’s what he had. It’s this one listed in the Delta 3 Plus Manual: “EcoFlow DELTA 3 Smart Extra Battery EF-DL-E10-4” I doubt that one is 4KWh as the Delta 3 Pro is a much larger generator so it’s Smart Extra Battery would likely not sit on top of a Delta 3 Plus generator? The Delta 3 Pro battery is listed in the Delta 3 Plus manual as compatible as well but again I doubt it would stack and fit on top of the Delta 3 Plus. It’s listed as: “EcoFlow DELTA Pro 3 Smart Extra Battery EFD521-EB”. So here’s to hoping the smaller capacity Delta 3 Plus Extra Battery comes out. I don’t need an additional 4KWh’s maybe 1-2 KWh’s for cheaper and have it stack nicely on top of the Delta 3 Plus.
