Yeah, the Fed is 'VERY POLITICAL'. The ratio of Democrats to Republicans at the Fed is 56-1. For every one Republican there are 56 Democrats at the Fed! The Fed will go out of their way to try to re-elect Biden with their policy.

So let's do some simple math inflation rates for the years 2020 through 2023 6% for the first year second year 18% third year 6%. So if we were supposed to get 2% inflation as a Target that only totals 6%. You add 6% + 18% + 6%. Gives you 30%. So in order to get deflation to bring us down to the 6% of cumulative inflation for the past 3 years you need to raise interest rates 5 times higher than what they are now which would put it at about 29%. What decade does this remind you of I would say the 1970s

Interestingly, my company started pushing people back into the office, slowly cutting down on the number of remote days. Then they did in about face and we are now basically going to be 100% remote. The reason being was the cost of office space is a meaningful cost for the company. We are in a competitive industry, and so every bit of overhead counts.

I spend 33% more in my electricity I spend 40% more in my gas I spend 35% more in my water and sewage my insurance for my car and house has gone up 40% and the gas I put in my vehicle has gone up 45% can you say the economy is doing well how can you say that this is doing well did I get a 33% raise from my job. I think not how about you extrapolate these numbers out and over time everyone goes bankrupt

Except - the public and private debt is so high and much has to be refinanced and if they can’t afford it, we have another problem. Banks are also losing money with an inverted yield curve - borrow short and lend long. So that may be why they have to lower rates and not be too late like they were hiking rates.

Goods are coming down in quantity because the demand is down It's the demand is down and they keep producing Goods then there'll be more Goods on the Shelf meaning the prices would come down as far as deflation if the demand goes up and there's not enough Goods to supply the demand then prices go up

well really the so-called 'keynesian' monetary theory depends on taking on debt to stimulate growth, until eventually there is a mountain of debt and the economy isn't sensitive to stimulus, and then it falls under it's own weight. so it didn't have to be mrdrd , (though it is) ... it would have eventually happened by itself anyways

My outlook on money changed when I realized someone making $300,000 can retire broke & someone making $80,000 can retire a multi-millionaire. With the current market movement, you have $100,000 to invest. Where are you investing it?

Money advice varies, but planning is key. Exposed to personal finance early, I started working at 19, bought my first home at 28, faced job loss at 36 during COVID. Consulting a CFP helped grow my finances. Currently, I'm 25% short of my $5m goal.

“The economy has changed “ based on remote employees is a theory based on opinion, not fact. “The consumption of remote employees has changed” isn’t proven to be a substantial factor that is holding up the economy. This is an assumption. How does he know chafing consumption isn’t a wash? Only jobs for migrants are growing. I agree with the questioner that the economy ISS being propped up by government borrowing and spending borrowed money. He opines that sticky inflation will not rise to the point that the Fed will raise the bank lending rate. I think we’re on borrowed time due to borrowed money. He doesn’t factor in future bond sales and the success of those. The entire presentation is interesting, but way too early to adopt. I’m not willing to assume inflation will hold at 3%, which we all know the CPI is a fraudulent measurement, anyway. Talk to us in 10 years to see if this guy had a clue what he’s talking about.

When you guys talk about what works, I have to wonder: for whom? Vulture capitalism works for vultures. Socialism works for average people. They work for a while, until they don’t any more. Complex interactions of factors need to be accounted for. Yes, looking at assumptions is critical.
