My greatest concern is how to recover from all these economic and global troubles and stay afloat especially with the political power tussle going on in US. The government has really called things more difficult for its citizens,and we can't sit back and bear all the consequences of the bad governance.

The wisest thought that is in everyone's minds today is to invest in different income flows that do not depend on the government, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver and digital currencies (BTC, ETH.... stock,silver and gold)

The United States as we know it is no more. All signs point to 2023 being a year of significant economic hardship for the entire nation. Put your cash to use straight away to increase its value. I was aware that I needed to invest. I had no idea how quickly a few thousand dollars a month would go up. Though it is. Since 2020, I've made about $600,000.

Thank you Dr. Wolff: In united states we need to be educated about workers power of being united against capitalism. To understand what social programs are and what socialism is. To understand what power general strikes have. To learn the relationship of Ruling class and working class in United states and entire world. To understand why unemployment means and how ruling class created it to enslave workers.
@JP-fb8ni
@JP-fb8ni 6 ай бұрын
Absolutely, these elements are crucial for any society to understand if we are to make significant progress towards a fairer, more equal world. Understanding worker solidarity is also vital, because it underscores the need for collective bargaining, which can directly influence wages, working conditions, and labour laws, helping workers protect their rights. It's also critical for people to learn about social programmes and socialism, as they both play an essential role in wealth distribution, challenging capitalist norms of private ownership (not to be mistaken for personal ownership). The power of general strikes also lies in our ability to demonstrate mass dissatisfaction with the existing system, disrupting economic productivity, and so, pushing for political change. Indeed, in order for people to fully appreciate their agency within these social dynamics, it's paramount to understand the relationships between the ruling (the capitalists) and working classes (i.e. anyone who works for a living). These relationships, often exploitative, lay the groundwork for societal hierarchies that permeate many aspects of our lives, including our political and economic system. I would further articulate that unemployment isn't an unavoidable flaw in the system; instead, it's systematically perpetuated by those who stand to benefit the most - the ruling class. In a society where workers depend on their wages to survive, the threat of unemployment creates fear and desperation, allowing employers to lower wages and worsen working conditions. Therefore, knowledge is key; it empowers workers to band together and stand up against the oppressive mechanisms of capitalism. Read theory Shain. Start with the easy stuff and don't dive in head first. Educate, agitate, organise.

UBI has to be paired with a land value taxation or else all additional Universal Basic Income will be assumed by land rents. "The rent of land, therefore, considered as the price paid for the use of the land, is naturally a monopoly price. It is not at all proportioned to what the landlord may have laid out upon the improvement of the land, or to what he can afford to take; but to what the farmer can afford to give." - Adam Smith, An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations, Book I, Chapter XI "Of the Rent of Land"

Do you want to be completely reliant and controlled by the bourgeoisie? Because that's what you'll get by simply slapping UBI onto an inherently unequal economic system. The only equalizing factor in a capitalist system is the ability for workers to withhold their labor. Solve automation with a UBI and you will be creating a peasantry the likes of which the world has never seen. People's standard of living will be entirely dependent on how generous the bourgeoisie are feeling, and I can tell you they did not get where they are by being generous. We need worker ownership of the means of production.

In the United States women annually earn approximately seventy cents to the dollar compared to men. The explanation for this is not discrimination. It is personal choice. Women choose occupations that pay less and they work fewer hours than men. The solution is to mandate that women work in occupations predominated by men and that they work more hours. The next time I have my roof replaced I expect to see a couple of white women from the suburbs on the crew laboring for 12 hour days in 110 degree heat. Only then will we truly be equal.

Today, we have a handful of greedy uber rich that have more assets & money than many millions of Americans. You want to talk about failures of working class, but what you need to focus on is the greed of billionaires that get tax cuts, tax break, tax payer subsidies that rightwing politicians love to hand out. War. Greedy Defense contractors have the poshest townhomes close to DC, where they can send multiple lobbyists to each & every DC politician to buy their favors & pass their bills to pay for more war. We can thank 5 reichwing sociopaths on SCOTUS for deciding in 2010, Citizens United, that, "Money is speech." Our problem isn't labor. Sorry Professor, but ignoring "capitalism" is a far better alternative than inserting your ignorance, both historical and economic so that the word no longer has any relevance to the system you are intent on criticizing. BTW in regards to your claim of violence, in terms of population, mass shootings or killings the U.S. is nowhere near the top of the list. Finally, since you still have no idea what inflation is, or the role of "fiat" and its effects since 1934...your so-called "union victories" and its cola "plank" only worsens the general problem for "everyone else", but again ensures that whatever imagined gains you think have been achieved, the simple fact that "all cola's are deliberately set below the actual inflation rate"...provides a temporary respite whose duration and consequences will simply be a repetition of that of "fiat" itself...at a must faster rate. If you understand nothing else about inflation the following fact should be obvious. It favors debtors, in that one is paying one's debts with currency worth less than the currency that was borrowed...and it also follows that the largest debtors will benefit the most from this. Since at 33+trillion that would be the federal government...and it can print all the currency it needs...so that this will end any time soon is a foolish expectation. Of this, 33 trillion, only 7.5 trillion is foreign debt, with roughly almost 3 trillion owed to Japan and China...which is an inconsequential amount...while the rest, according to Magical Monetary Theory is "money???? owed to ourselves"...which is an interesting description, since "ourselves" includes the various "trust funds" of which Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, etc are primary...and between government and "the people" who "ourselves" turns out to be...should NOT be a mystery. Also FYI, banks do not provide financing for business start-ups...although they will provide loans against the "assets" held by "anyone"...although the concept of "risk" does not seem to be one you actually have a grasp of...given your co-op fantasy and your seeming inability to grasp why the funding for these "enterprises" is so difficult to secure.

Who are you to deny an immigrant family the right to allow their teen-aged child the opportunity to work. California mandates that fast food chains pay employees a minimum wage of $20 per hour. Would you insist that teenagers not work and forbid the family this extra income?

are they a legal resident and therefore allowed to work and pay tax? No problem.

You missed the whole point of child labor laws in US. That you even want to put your child to work in an unsafe work environment is beyond insanity. That's what our child labor laws do: protect the child from dangerous machinery, and long mostly unpaid, underpaid slave labor. Your comment is incredibly blind.

@@andreah6379 It doesn't matter what you or I think Andy. It matters what families in low income brackets think. Who are you to tell a family that their teen-aged child can't go to work at Jack-in- the-Box? Do you think the parents are stupid? Don't you think the parents have a brain and can decide for themselves whether or not it is safe for their son or daughter to flip burgers and cook fries? Don't you think these parents can decide whether or not $20 per hour could help improve the families finances? The last thing these parents need is someone like you telling them how to make decisions and what is in the best interest for the family.

The nut doesn’t fall far from the proverbial marxist tree. Marx and Engels both lived off the labor of others. They were both supported by capitalism.
