Sincere condolences from England for the unimaginable loss of your nephew, Professor Wolff. Saddened beyond belief for all who lose precious loved ones, especially at the hands of other humans. Sending love, strength and healing to you, your family and those who perpetrate such monstrosities. Dr Gabor Mate said that for society to function, it must separate the soul from the body because how else would anyone be able to treat another human being this way? Cruelty could not exist if we were healed and whole. Global capitalism is a very toxic culture for the human mind, body and soul. 😢 Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your vital work and bless you to keep going. May your nephew and all souls slain by another man's hands rest in eternal peace and love. 💔

You are helping a lot of people to open there eyes. In Brooklyn NY there is a no profit group that focus on advising and helping small businesses in thier area. They brought up the idea of works ownership you needed 4 persons to do this and they would help to organize the transitions. I do not know if anyone did this or not but it is an idea that is out there.

Yeah it would surprise most people since it's not very accurate but typical of Wolff when searching for those things that seek to evoke the "emotional" reaction. ( and his attempt to equate colonialism with capitalism. ) His "book" was his Ph.D. thesis...and since Yale has a Press, they probably deducted the cost of the 10 copies from his "teaching", salary, as they did his tuition fees before they kicked him to the curb. The colony was initiated by the East Africa Company seeking to reach "other" countries for "mining" possibilities, It did not become a British Colony until 1920 and there were no census' taken...the first official one being in 1948. Also, there were more "Indians" in Kenya than British with the rupee being the official currency. The early days also saw the involvement of the Sultan of Zanzibar... who had run the slave trade in east africa for as long as it existed and way before it began on the west coast. The problem with being educated by Wolff is that no one bothers to verify his claims, and it's not hard... There's more, of course, including the fact that the Mau, Mau's killed 34 whites and 1800 of their fellow Kenyans...but you can find it easily enough if you bother to look. "The Scramble for Africa 1875 to 1915" is also an interesting source.

The tendency of the rate of profit to fall (TRPF) is a theory in the crisis theory of political economy, according to which the rate of profit - the ratio of the profit to the amount of invested capital - decreases over time. This hypothesis gained additional prominence from its discussion by Karl Marx in Chapter 13 of Capital.

The British only ever expressed regret to give an apology to them would imply guilt and there are still a lot of them who actually believe the British Empire was a force for good. Oh absolutely! What a refined and insightful outlook you've shared, laying all responsibility of unemployment squarely on the workers. I mean, who needs to question systemic inequalities or power dynamics in capitalism, right? It's always about blaming the workers for not working themselves to the bone and somehow expecting more than a bare minimum wage. Nevermind exploitative practices, it's always down to individuals just being lazy. Much easier to avoid uncomfortable truths like how the system thrives on wealth distribution inequities. Thanks for pointing that out. Your ability to blame the workers is, as always, I'm sure, an illuminating spectacle of your commitment to the capitalist ideology. 👏
