In response to trade protectionism, it should be prohibited to invest in building EV factories in Europe, so that they can only buy expensive EVs.

EU: Let’s impose a 35% tariff on all Chinese EVs to protect our automobile industry. While the three biggest car makers go: BMW: no tariff plz it hurt us more Mercedes: we would like to compete with auto brands from China VW: no tariff please… Doesn’t this make people wonder why countries with the least automobile interest wanted higher tariffs? 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️

Well, passed to consumers and paid as tariffs. Essentially a tax on EU consumers and higher prices to make it less attractive.

China should retaliate on luxury, alcohol and automotive sector, by putting 50% tariff on luxury, alcohol and automotive import from EU.

Can you see the dishonesty? Whenever EU increases the tariffs is unfair. When China is raising tariffs is anti-dumping. In fact, no Chinese automaker is profitable. EU applying anti-dumping laws is legitimate. The anti-dumping laws in Europe are decades old. The curious should read them.
