Recession must be measured differently on a federal financial level than it is on Main St. level. At what point is it called a recession when people are lined up for a mile at the food bank? When car repossessions are at an all-time high? When personal credit card debt is burying folks? When people are living off their retirement far before retirement? There is a disconnect, and "recession" is really a financial formula, not a civilian reality.

My concern with rate cuts is that they will have to turn on the money printer to pay for government programs and functions, when they lose revenue from the treasury bills, after people start dumping them and putting their money elsewhere, when their yield drops and after the stock market crashes, due to the rate cuts, and everyone wants to dump their stocks to borrower cheaper money, stocks will be cheap and pay out better than short term treasuries. Then we are back to square one with inflation. Until the government addresses their spending problem, they will only make things worse in the long run.

In 1980 the American people were warned that we could not withstand a 3/4 of a trillion dollars debt. It's 10X that now. So we can handle that ? Please explain.

Credit card debt is only a problem when the payment comes due, right? The payment has not yet come due, but it will because all socialist states fail. When that happens, the social chaos will be of a magnitude never before seen in this country.

No recession..the economy will ebb and flow..it just needs to be adjusted..the average worker can only work 36hrs so no matter what job they take..they'll have to take a pt job too..give the people 40hrs plus overtime and stop trying to complain about the whole emoyment situation and just give the people more hrs..more hrs..more economic stimulation..

There are more pros than cons for cutting rates. Pros: -Stop bank collapse -Boost GDP -Boost small cap stock -Prevent mass layoff and unemployment -People can pay off credit card loan -Prevent foreclosure increase -Reduce budget deficit from interest payment Cons -Inflation spike (less likely since oil price going down unless more crazy gov spending)

Here is a thought. Stop spending money. Either its to countries that hate us or programs that people take advantage of or crooks in general.

If you actually paid attention to that. Then you know if you subtract Covid from the end of Trump’s term and from the beginning of Biden’s term. Then you will see that Biden’s administration added more money than national debt than Trump did. 🤷♂️

How about going to the fair tax just like they proposed about 10 years ago. That way you can export overseas tax free. That will revive the economy. Fix the education system by making every student a homeschool student. By that I mean, using interactive software instead of mediocre human teachers to teach the majority of kids.that way you get a much more consistent quality of student. They could move at their own rate and Bast amount of money would be saved getting rid of our 19 century education system.

Stimulate the economy with rate cuts? No. Leave the interest rate alone and issue a Family Tax Cut. We cannot get these democrats out of office fast enough.
@Kane-ib5sn4 ай бұрын
"Economists warn rate cuts not the answer"...rate cuts are the answer; but they must be augmented with balanced government spending, and higher tariffs in key areas of manufacturing, that need protection - but the ultimate goal, is an economy of supply - as opposed to demand (Christian economic theory, that's been around since a man convinced others to surrender their wealth for redistribution). furthermore, government has to acknowledge it serves the nation, not the other way around. you cannot have a government that continually takes more than it gives, in terms of trust, productivity, innovation, and all the rest of it. the US government as a whole is deficient; too much entitlements.
