You missed a very important point, which is the de facto Ranil-Rajapaksa regime hasn't made a single debt repayment (meaning the country is still bankrupt to date) since taking over the government. In fact, thanks should go to India, the USA, the Sri Lankan migrant workforce, and the tourists who have been visiting the country. No fuel queues because people have reduced their consumption due to sky-rocketing prices. Two-thirds of the population only manage two meals a day, with malnutrition ranging from 24% to 74%. In hindsight, Sri Lanka didn't need a president to do what the de facto regime did-even Worzel Gummidge could have done it. He will be Done and Dusted in two days and destined to spend the rest of his lifetime behind bars. Seven decades of Curse & Suffering are about to end, Sri Lanka will be reborn on the 22nd of September with AKD!

Ranil's economy policy is primarily based on increasing taxes. Now there's for everything including medicines, books, infant formulas and agriculture goods. No plans to cut down gov. expenditures or collecting taxes from riches who've been evading. Whoever comes to power economy will see some ups and downs. But Anura is promising a corruption free country, and everyone including opposition knows he is capable o doing that. Vast majority of Sri Lankans have now realised that by eliminating corruption we can go for economic prosperity.
