Ecostrad iQ Ceramic - Programming

GREAT HEATERS ,VERY HAPPY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I purchased 3 heaters earlier this year (500watt/1500watt & 2000watt) and I've now decided to set up the programming as the weather has turned cold. I'm not sure why everyone is complaining about setting up the programme, it's very easy if you follow this video. Yes you do need some patience but once set up you don't need to worry about it again. These are smart heaters and run off the wifi, so worth checking your wifi signal strength in the room your heater is in. I set up my bedroom heater programme last night following steps in this video. The programme was also reflected on the app, I think is handy as you get an overview of all programmes then having to go to each individual heater to check what the programme is. This morning the bedroom heater came on a 6am (comfort mode) and without any sound, I did not hear the heater come on or any loud beeps and it turned off at 9am as I programmed. Please don't be put off by the comments, you just need some patience and to watch the video a couple times and it's very easy to set up.

What if you want the heater off midnight to 9am, Comfort mode 9am to 5pm, Economy mode 5pm to 10pm and off 10pm to midnight? In other words does each hour have to be Comfort or Economy - what about an 'OFF' setting?

Is their an updated version of this video? Just bought a radiator and the LCD screen layout is completely different to my previous radiator and what is shown on the video. I can't tell if it is faulty/damaged (not unlikely given the miss-handling APC subjected it to trying to deliver it) with the buttons seemingly not working or if I'm just doing it wrong.

The app is constantly locking up and preventing me from making any adjustments to mode, temperatures etc. for the radiator

The screen for programming the heaters are totally different from those shown in the manual and the online instructions. After 2days of guesswork with little or no help from electric radiators direct. I suspect that the 2025 upgraded version of these radiators have been sold with the old version of the manual. £3000 not well spent. I would advise future purchasers to wait until ecostrad gets its act together.

Jeez, I was literally just about to order 6 of these radiators. Thank God I watched this video - order cancelled. Could they make it any more complicated?

As mentioned in the video, the easiest way to program the iQ Ceramic is via the app - this is a preferred method for many of our satisfied customers. However, if you prefer manual control and are looking to keep things as simple as possible, all you have to do is make sure the radiator is in Comfort Mode (Sun icon). If not, tap the ‘Tick’ icon to switch between modes. Then use ‘+’ or ‘-‘ to select your preferred temperature between 7 and 30 degrees. The radiator will continuously heat at this temperature until you switch the radiator off. If you have any questions about any of our products, please let us know. Thank you The ERD Team

After 1 years of ownership and 3-4 months of use I had an error code 2 . This means you may as well bin it.

Bought this heater for my 94 year old Mother, no wifi, Total nightmare. My Brother in law, x BT programmer, My sister IT manager & myself trying to piggy back off a sim card failed as no blue tooth option, Really!!! Mum was up at 4 am this morning opening the window as too hot, I,m going around for the seventh time to re programme. Big mistake purchasing this, just want on off, hotter cooler 7 day timer, how simple can this be?

Avoid these radiators. They are a nightmare to set up. Even when that's been successful they drop the wifi signal (when wifi is fine), regularly - meaning you have to start again and again. They each make a loud beeping noise which wakes up the entire household when they turn on in the morning. You need two apps to set up and manage (three if you include Google home) - its ridiculous. Manually, or via the app - they are problematic. I had all my radiators set to a zone for ease of use - even that didn't work. It would sometimes turn all of the radiators on but not all of them off!? I then had to go around each radiator to make sure they were off . The app user display showed 'mixed' despite the fact all radiators had the same settings and it had turned them all on!? Voice control is a sham. You can't just say e.g. "Google turn on heating" for the zone you've chosen. Oh, no. You have to say "Google turn on 'kitchen' radiator", "Google turn on 'living room' radiator" and repeat this for every radiator you have - they don't tell you that in the videos. As for app programming it's a joke. I set up a schedule. It never worked. I set up a different schedule. Nope. Doesn't work. The radiators and app are allegedly developed in-house. It needs a major overhaul that can be applied to mugs like myself who invested in these problematic radiators. There is NOTHING smart about these. They are NOT user friendly. You'll spend a lot of time with the manual. A lot time watching videos. A lot of time with customer support. A lot of time wishing you'd bought different radiators. Absolutely awful. Best avoided.

Omg... The worst purchase ever. Everything is so complicated!! App just for to see how these radiators are made not how to set up!

Sorry but easy to programme via Wi-Fi but Bluetooth would be easier. That’s sadly where it ends Constant failures we are at 76% failure after just two years. Also no lock feature that simply turning off then back on can’t change so no good for holiday let’s etc. Also exact same unit is available for less than half the price from another manufacturer and sold by Argos - Avoid
