I have the T30 Omni and can confirm that the anti tangling combs work perfectly, much to my surprise. We've upgraded from a Dreame Z10 Pro, which required regular detangling due to my wife's long hair. The T30 has been in use for 2 months now and the main brush has been completely devoid of hair. There have been incidental quirks with coverage like you showed, but it hasn't gotten stuck yet so I'm not too bothered.

I currently have a wyze vac, and have decided that long hair anti-tangle is a primary requirement for it's replacement. I haven't done the research to find best robo vacs with hair detangling, did you have a list of recommendations for this?

@@tylerdumez6723 Dreame has a Tricut main brush upgrade available for the L10/20/30/40 which in theory would give you the best hair detangling on the market. For me personally it couldn't perform any better than T30 Omni, but it might be different for someone with long haired pets (which we don't have).

A very important point that nobody discusses is the ability to work in rooms that have slightly different Niveaus!!! This is a big issue in old houses like where I live in germany, where each room lays 3-5 cm different from the next one! So my question is, how to know which robot can "climb " this 3-5cm obstacles? I hope to find the answer from you, and a special video to test this issue would be just great 👍

For threshold crossing as high as that you're probably going to need something like the upcoming Dreame x50, but I imagine they'll be pricey considering the new climbing abilities...

I have this and the software / mapping / navigation is definitely the pain point. My Roborock s6 never had any issues when I move furniture, pick stuff up, etc but this has gotten lost multiple times, had its map reset, tried to go back to places it already cleaned. When it works it’s great, but sometimes it can’t even find itself coming out of the base to go do a single room clean.

Since the Eufy S1 Pro mopping system, I just see all the other mopping systems basically smearing the mess of the floor to the point that you can't see it. Only a small amount is removed on to the pads.

Can’t decide vacuum wars help me!! Looking at the t30s or l20 dreame. The t30s I can snag for 680 after taxes and the dreame l20 for 900. I like the fact that the dreame has a camera and lidar and the detachable mop heads, I have hardwood and carpet on main floor where it would go. Not sure if 220 dollars is worth the difference tho. Which would you get t30s Ecovacs for 680 or Dreame l20 for 900. Both after taxes. Or wait till prime day?

I had the Ecovacs N8 pro+. I liked it initially, but the mapping and navigation were so buggy that after a year i couldn't handle it anymore. In the Vacuum wars review the navigation was listed as a plus, just like for this one. The two issues you pointed out immediately reminded me of that frustration. I don't think I'll ever buy an Ecovacs product again, and I wouldn't recommend them to my friends

getting stuck for no reason at all is a deal breaker. my dreame x30 has the same issue which occurs multiple times per session and there doesnt seem to be a fix. i leave the home expecting it to clean everywhere only to see hours later it is stuck and i have to manually press continue in the app! almost every time! looking for a good replacement

Great review! Unfortunately I think we’ll return ours. We’ve had it for about 2 weeks with all hard floors and it misses so many things. It also does a terrible job avoiding obstacles and objects. It’s constantly vacuuming things up and throwing an error message. It gets tangled in cords and pulls off the mop pads. It also fell down the stairs while mopping. It has so many great features at a more affordable price than the Dreame but there’s a lot of kinks still.

I bought the T8 years ago, and most of that was present in my robovac already back then, so if Ecovacs hasn't fixed this until now, they're never going to fix them. They're happy to take your money and then let you fend for yourself.

It's sad, but these chinese robot vac companies have a history of releasing substandard products. Dreame/Roborock/Xiaomi group did the same thing with error 2, which was on so many models like RR's S4-S7 bots

I used to need to cut the fur from the main brush every single time I used my roborock s5 max, this time the only fur I found on the main brush was on one of the sides and even that was only a small amount, even the small wheel and the side brush were fur free :)

Which upright vac would you recommend for thicker carpet with embedded dirt/hair? I’m thinking Bissell Multiclean but I’m not sure if suction would be strong enough for the high pile carpet. Other option is saving up for the Sebo Felix. I’m wanting to avoid Shark. Thanks so much!

I brought both and i think im going to keep the t30s. I dont like the roborock ap. Its easier to set vacuum then mop on t30s. Its not clear to me for roborock. I dont like t30s mapping that much tho, wish it adapted to changes on the floor. Neither one can vacuum or go around my high pile carpet, which is the reason i got both, hoping 1 would. Roborock does seem sturdier but t30s was cheaper.

You're welcome. Lmk how u like them. They are very similar. Still deciding. I've gotten better with the roborock ap. The map continuously learns. T30s maps don't. You have to remap for changes on your floor. Roborock is just more sophisticated, but once you get it, it's edging t30s for the mapping, build quality, and accessory availability. Both are equal on the actual cleaning.

Depends on the software. I have ramps in some rooms. One robot doesn't like it, the other newer ones navigate it fine. It's similar to how older models used to not like black rugs because they didn't consider that for the cliff sensor. One of those things where you'd have to test.

Bought a T30S based on this review and am very disappointed with the mapping feature. I cannot divide my home into rooms in any reasonable way. Called support and was told it should be working. I think they launched the X2 a month or so after the T20, so I'd suspect an X3 is in the works. I would never pay full price for an EcoVacs as they aren't great software wise, and get abandoned update wise quickly after launch. The one thing they have going for them (and only reason I have one) is that EcoVacs dumps their returns (and there are normally a lot of them) on second hand stores so you can get these things for around $450 after taxes shortly after launch.

Lousy product. Keep stopping during cleaning and keep sounding to clean the sensors... robot making noise to change the vacuum bag which is newly changed. Lost the direction and stopped in mid of cleaning. After completion of the job, robot in out the drum for many times before it can be home. After sales service was terrible. No way they can be contacted. Only WhatsApp and don't expect them to reply to you. Same problem with my sister's robot as we bought together at the same time. Not going to purchase this product again which is not cheap, it cost SGD 1300 per set.

Never again Deebot. My T8 has been a buggy hell all its life, and Ecovacs never bothered fixing it, only introducing more bugs with each update. Can't tell you how often it lost its map and I had to remap my whole house, which wasn't a 5 minute job, or how often it got lost and couldn't find its dock, and settings kept resetting, and half the time there were network issues when opening the app. Also, configuring rooms was impossible with my house layout, as it kept refusing to divide certain spaces, which was the very least I expected Ecovacs to fix. And half a year ago, it started refusing to charge. Ecovacs robovacs are a POS.
