I have found the Zoom Versa stove has a worthwhile secondary use that comes in handy after cooking a late supper at camp. If it has been burning for an hour or more, the firebrick insulation in the interior grows moderately hot, sufficient for the stove to act as a small night-storage type air heater.... .... and the stove is sized just about right for the volume of air within a two or three-man tent. Heat output can even be regulated a little by opening/closing the doors to control the volume of air allowed to convect up through the middle. Domestic storage heaters of the electric type are not often used these days, but back in the day they too were filled with a mass of firebricks, or sometimes concrete blocks, as their heat storage medium. Note: This use of the Zoom Versa stove is AFTER you have scraped out its ashes from cooking... it is only STORED HEAT released over a matter of hours that we are using to warm the tent. No flame or burning is happening at this stage .... and no consumption of the tent's oxygen as occurs with a catalytic gas heater.

How did this stove hold up over the time?
@InsomniacReviews2 жыл бұрын
Great! I still own and use the one in this video. Only one only thing I notice is the little grate that supports the wood can rust if the rubber coating wears off but in regards to the stove it’s I would say as good as day one in regards to use

Thank you for the fast answer. I want to buy one of these, but they are all sold out everywhere in Germany were i live or way to expensive:(. Maybe when the situation will normalize they will be on the market again

@@etidiharmon6662 You’re welcome and I don’t think you will be disappointed. Also don’t be afraid to check out solo stoves. I have a review for one of those and they are excellent and come in different sizes and a little lighter for backpacking

Its good but why is the cast iron that holds the pot on top not used to build the body of the stove???the body looks like what can easily bend
@InsomniacReviews3 жыл бұрын
My opinion is cast iron for everything would be too heavy and the sides are insulated to keep the heat in as it currently sits. Someone one put some thought into this design and assume your suggestion would def increase the price per unit. Ive been very pleased with this product!

At 3:23 min. the stick holder is shown behind the lower draft door. why not let your viewers understand the concept of draft regulation to control heat output.....????

Why would you place the stick support in such a manner that you can not close the draft (bottom) door?
@JustifyJustin4 жыл бұрын
You can close the door, it hinges under the support.
