All new vehicles are going down the toilet!!! Even Toyota and Hondas are having quality issues. I would never buy a new car because they are on glue when they set the prices! I bought a 2005 Subaru Outback in 2015 for 7000.00 and it's been a great vehicle. Had to do the timing belt because an idler bearing blew out (got lucky on that one with no taps on the valves). Fast forward 9 years and the head gasket goes south, so a pretty major expense. Looked my options over and decided to green light the job at 4 grand. When you look at the numbers, I am into this car for roughly 12000.00 from 2015 to today. Next July will mark 10 years and the car still drives like new and is reliable as ever. New cars are disposable like Bic Lighters, so they should be priced like Bic Lighters.

The Hemi have this problem but not near as much. the rockers stop rolling and eat off the cam lobes the metal shavings destroy the engine. #2 nissan CVT . they are junk. other than a fluid change there's no way to fix them . Noone rebuilds them all the used ones are junk . got to hope the warranty covers it and the shop can get one from the factory. the repair can be more than the cars worth. Better have every single service recept. #3 ford ecoboost , blown head gasket there is no why, some last 150k some 15k it just happens crap design #4 anything with a "wet" timing belt. belt strips and or pieces of the belt starve the engine for oil and it blows , maintenance seems to be irrelevant it just happens #5 any turbo BMW . they advertise 10k oil changes but they can drink up to a quart every 750 miles and the dealer will consider it normal. they hold around 6 quarts do that math. The warranty gets out of paying you for blowing the engine because of tiny print in the owner's manual says check oil every stop for gas. #6 kia and Hyundai. drink oil like a BMW people run them low on oil and the engine just falls apart. there were others but 80% of my work was just those things.

You need to do a video on Toyota! They are not doing the best either. Look at the 8-speed transmissions that are going out anywhere from 45,000 miles to 100,000 miles. Even if you do the fluid changes they are still failing early. There is a wait list for people that need a new transmission right now. Also, those panoramic sunroofs leaking down the inside pillars. Drain holes getting plugged left and right. The smaller engines in the Tundra and Tacoma's with issues also. I had a 2019 Camry with the 8-speed transmission, and I hated it! It was slow to shift to the next gear. If you need to floor it due to getting onto the highway it would bog down. This Camry also only had 25,000 miles on it! I did not know how crappy it was till I bought a very high mile 2007 Camry that is way more amazing. So off that 2019 went to a new owner that did not care about that issue.

My friend’s 2018 Honda Civic has had multiple issues with the AC system and the issue has been fixed twice already. She’s been waiting for a HPFP recall fix for over a year now. I bought a new Chevy Malibu back in 2004. After a couple of years there was a ticking noise on the driver's side. It took about 8 hours for the Chevy Mechanic to find out what was causing this problem. It was a negative connection to the body. The screw through the eye hole of the negative wire was loose. I was lucky that the spark didn't cause a fire.

it's a shame that none of these companies can build a reliable,inexpensive car. all this electronic junk makes it tough for a backyard mechanic to work on. or maybe that's the whole idea.once trusted names are now looked upon as junk.pity

40 plus years in car business, almost completely agree especially the Jetta and Audi. You never see them in a decent condition on dealer's lots when over 100k on odometer. Kind of OK with the Jeep as long as it's not the E or L configuration, however Stelantis pricing is so abhorrent that most customers will rather swing for GM SUV's

I own a 2016 VW Golf TSI with over 200k , like the car , no issues at all with engine and transmission. On the other hand , I’ve had to deal with sunroof leaking water . VW is going to loose its loyal fans if they don’t address their quality control

VW should bring back the reliable, venerable, legendary 24 valve VR6 (2nd generation)! I've had my manual 2003 GTI VR6 for 22 years now, with the original chains, and it's still going strong as my daily driver! 22 YEARS, with NO major issues! The only problem years ago, was a cooling fan which failed after 17 years! Incredible! I just change the oil every 6,000 miles or so (Liqui-Moly full synthetic), and this German Panzer Tank keeps on serving me well, and putting a smile on my face after all these years! I could probably get another 10 years or more out of this car! These solid, old school naturally aspirated engines are disappearing, and that is a crying shame! These days, they cheapen everything, and strap turbos on increasingly smaller and smaller engines! Pretty soon we'll have 2 cylinder engines and a Hamster under the hood of many cars!

Interesting contrast between the US and the UK. Here in the UK we go for more diesels as our fuel is much more expensive and diesels are more economical. I had an Audi A6 2.0 TDi from 2009 to 2022 and did 332,000 miles before I sold it, still running like new with no more oil consumption than it ever did (at least 3500 miles per litre). I now drive an A6 Avant 40TDi (2 litre), 88,000 trouble free miles so far with no problems, oil consumption nil.

Another informative video, Trax should be on the list, although many models have questionable reliability, you highlighted the worst. 2.0 eco boost in Ford Models isn't that great like you mentioned, but 1.5 is awful

Because there are way too many vehicles with terrible transmissions to choose from! LOL Give Ram credit where credit is due to the are going all ZF and putting and end to the suffering on their trucks in regards to transmissions.

Engineered and built to fail that's the mindset of the manufacturer
@cheftomsdАй бұрын
Ram no longer offering a V8. Most trucks companies going this route. Nothing wrong with straight sixes, but forget turbos, make them naturally aspirated. I would sacrifice a little horsepower for reliability. Stellantis is on borrowed time. They have trashed Chrysler, once a brand know for great engineering. I predict it will not survive unless someone else buys it.

I understand that the Atlas has a water retention problem. The "frame rails" have rubber boots that don't allow water to egress. That will sure be a problem where rust will;l start.

If you don't know what an "Oil Pump Drive Belt" is, you really need to google/youtube it. 100+years of Ford engineering and oil pumps have never been a problem, now Ford engineers an oil pump that's not run on the crankshaft, but instead is run by a oil soaked internal belt. What could go wrong?
@ECPPАй бұрын
Indeed, what really could go wrong? Ask many owners of the Ecosport vehicles
