john I noticed faster throttle response and faster spoolI. As for actual power its hard to tell. Most likely didn't gain anything because the intercooler on turbo charged cars is what makes the big difference on intake temp. Sounds great though!

Bought and paid for by me and I’ve had multiple Audis since. We were beginner car modders and had fun doing it and have learned loads in the process. Thanks for the assumption though. You needed to cut some of that tube, also, its an automatic so thats kinda sad :/. I would suggest looking for a manual so you can go hard reliably.

A simple K&N air filter would have done lots more for you, that cold air intake just makes it sound better

Thank for the comment! I don't know if it would have done "more" necessarily. You're correct though about the sound. Makes it sound awesome! (at least to me) I mostly did it for the sound and the look. Forced induction engines see virtually no gains from CAI's. My best bet would be to throw a better intercooler on.

Definitely! For now i want to replace the test pipe with a high flow cat, and then possible the rest of the exhaust system. I'm also upgrading my stock diverter valve, perhaps looking at intercoolers soon and getting a catch can in the near future. Maybe after all of that is done i will look at a tune. Either an APR tune, but you have to send your ECU in for that and this is my daily car so that wont really work. Or a local dyno tune at a shop here in the dallas area. Most likely will go directly to stage 2 instead of a 1 or 1+ tune since i will have most of the stuff ready for it.

Rj 2500HD don’t worry man! Everyone starts somewhere. We are still novices. All of the mods I do on my car SHOULD work on any b7 a4 2.0t fwd. aside from anything that doesn’t fit the s line because I have that model.

Rj 2500HD anything suspension/exhaust may be a little different. Always check and make sure the parts are for the AWD cars before purchasing.

The only difference that matters for these cars for intake should be if it traverse (sideways engine on FWD) and longitudinal (in-line with the car on Quattro models. The oil catch can, cam follower, coil packs and PCV are all gonna be the same between FWD and Quattro and are all things you want to consider and keep an eye on for these cars, in addition to regular maintenance. I have a B7 and a GTI. Same motor, just different layout for the motor. Intake and exhaust do liven up the cars a little, but don’t expect to be any faster without a tune.

If you wanna do a doityourself I suggest part number 8132 spectre air filter with part number 3996 breather filter, did it to my 2004 Audi A4 and it sounds amazing for just 45 bucks!

Bollocks! Absolute shite. You've either cleaned it and re oiled with too much oil and put it straight into your car dripping wet, or something else has gone wrong. Never had any issues with K&N. Wouldnt use anything else. Btw mk4 golf gti's are pathetic. Scrap the piece of shit and buy a real GTi. Mk1/2/5/6/7. 3 and 4 are heavy, ugly, gutless.

So far i haven't gotten a single code from the intake. The only codes I have, which I had before the intake install, is a small evap leak related code, and a catalytic back pressure code because i'm running a cat delete with a test pipe. From what i've read though i can use a small O2 sensor bung connector which restricts air flow to the sensor and will make the code go away.
