Really appreciate this review. The Oracle's 45 min - 1 hr descaling process was a major deal breaker for me, I also think the touch's design is a tad more refined

I have Sage Touch Impress and I just found out that if you like more creamy and smoother milk then u have to change the foam level to level 1. I had it on 5 and I didn’t like the foam, it was too much and it gets dry fast.

My wife surprised me with yhe Touch Impress recently. An amazing machine. I wake up press the button and from start to finish I make my wife and I our lattes in under five minutes. Mind blowing. If you're a busy person in yhe mornings this machine is for you. If you're not into waiting for a machine to warm up for 1/2 hour to 45 minutes to be up and running this machine is for you. For ME when I'm up I want my espresso NOW not half hour from now. (Yes you could get a smart power plug) but not spending double for what the Touch Impress can do. Hopefully this machine lasts a awhile.

Another great review! I had a dual boiler (not the Oracle) and was deciding between these two to replace it. I went for the Impress. The shots produced are better (maybe due to the Baratza grinder) and much easier to dial in a new set of beans. Steam wand is OK on auto but can produce good foam done manually (although not as well as the dual boiler). Enjoying the Impress, so easy to use.

the burrs in both the machines are the same.
@imreallysureovereigh
@imreallysureovereigh 4 ай бұрын
@@Yagizinono they are not. Breville already bought baratza but they didn‘t implement it in the oracle at this point but they did on the newer impress versions and the new oracle jet. So in this case here, the touch impress has the better grinder and not the inhouse one.

Thanks a lot for the video! Helped me to decide for the touch impress. I found it very amusing how you were much more hyper in the second half of the video after the two lattes than in the first half. Seems to work well too 😆

Hi Rebecca, thanks for the great comparison of these machines and their brews. I was wondering: is there any difference in build quality and materials used between the two? Thanks again for the great video!

When you get used to the Oracle you can time everything perfectly. Let the milk get warm then start the shot, both will finish at the same time.
@katyabbas7714

The Oracle Jet does not have a double boiler. But it does have a heated brew head. The Oracle Jet cannot brew and froth at the same time. But will automatically start the frothing after the espresso

I have the touch impress and in my opinion it’s way better than the oracle touch. Having a slightly larger portafilter & a dual boiler does not justify the double price point (+ you don’t get barista guidance & many other cool features)

Great video !! Thank you very in depth. I purchased the Barista Touch Impress because if the guidance system and dialing in beans is a dream after 20+ years of owning espresso machines. Now the cons my froth temps are great BUT even after pulling a blank shot and separately heating the portafilter my top brew temp is 135-150 F. Called Breville (machine is 3 months old) and told me with testing during a video chat, the tech said this was normal. I’m incensed as you cannot get a good pull at that temperature and not what Breville says in its advertising. They will not fix it. I love this machine but I want a brew temp that is at least 190-195. I’m lost as to what I should do as I cannot afford an Oracle. Any suggestions?

Hmmm... This does seem a little odd! We would definitely recommend trying to reach out to Breville again and get it rectified!

Great vid! my 2 cents below: While the oracle has a built-in temp sensor in the steam wand, it is also thicker which may make it more difficult to steam in manual mode. The oracle dual boiler system has great thermal stability and allows you to brew/steam at the same time, but does has a longer heat up time vs the thermojet system on the touch impress. For the touch impress, auto steaming should work as long as the milk jug has a flat bottom for the sensor to make contact. Both machines should produce micro-foam if you're willing to learn how to steam milk manually. IMHO, bambino plus + dedicated grinder is a better combo if you don't need assisted tamping.

Interesting take :) I started with bambino Plus & external grinder on my side, I found that having to clean the machine each time (small drip tray) and the mess of manual grinding / temping really didn't suit me. I exchanged that setup for an Oracle (not the touch) and I never looked back. Little things like LCD lighting and front water refill have also be simple yet enjoyable details. It's performed flawlessly with no mess at all. Consistency and coffee quality output has been 8/10 ie completely good enough.

Good review, thank you! Some good news for people like me who love the "3 second startup" of the ThermoJet system (that the current Oracle models lack)... they have announced a new Oracle Jet model, that is the new Oracle Touch with the ThermoJet system :D Also has a nicer screen. Basically the best of both worlds! I currently have a Barista Pro, which is great... but sometimes I think the extra features and power of the Oracle sounds good - but when I found out it takes 10-15 minutes to warm up, I was instantly put off. That's not how I work :P I just want to be able to turn the machine on and make a coffee straight away :D

With the Breville with the milk temperature sensor in the drip tray the bottom of the jug MUST be flat or the sensor way overshoots target temperature. You can get around it by putting the edge of the raised bottom jug on the sensor We had a Creatista Pro that had the same sensor and we would burn our milk if we used the wrong jug or just didn’t position it correctly.

Does the Oracle Touch have the upgraded Baratza Conical Burrs that the Touch Impress has?? If not does having a superior grinder make a big difference in taste or how it extracts?? Just curious.
