So crazy you just shared this and it showed up in my feed. Stay at home father of 2. My boys will be 1 June 19 and 2.5 on June 21st. My 2 year old was potty trained at 1.5 2 days after my second arrived which was my goal. My 11 month old was doing great last month. I was catching a lot of pees at about a 20-25 min interval and also starting to get some #2s out of him. He was getting close to walking and o was starting to have some regression but I didn’t know why. I took a little break as we had some camping trips that had arrived and I was honestly wore out because I started missing a bunch of pees. I have had my l.o. In undies for about 2 months. Since the break he has started walking and now that we are back joke and leaving again for Florida in a few weeks I decided it’s time to re focus. But now he wants nothing to do with the potty. But this video has eased my frustration by realizing which o should have know how walking would change his focus. This little boy is a fiery redhead and much different in demeanor and pretty much everything compared to my little blue eyed blonde. Lol I will re focus, with the knowledge of his inner workings and also the fact that his window is gonna be different and also try the privacy game. He was needing that a little more when I ended a few weeks ago and I had already switched him to the big potty because he was just getting up from the mini. But now that i have your suggestions of safe proofing the area I’ll try that. Thanks for the video is was just in time.

We have been using a seat reducer and you said “use it in a different way” what do you mean
@AndreaOlson2 жыл бұрын
Well, I was assuming that currently you are putting your baby on the seat reducer and waiting there with them.👍 So the slightly different way is to protect the floor around the toilet for safety, and then giving your child privacy on the toilet. You can also use the privacy technique with a floor potty, its just more difficult to walk away from a toilet when you're little!

Ok odd problem here. My house has weird size toilet and can not find a reducer or family style seat that fits! Then what??

Check out the Potette Plus or OXO travel potties, they should work on any shape! 👍

My 15 month old likes to take himself to the potty, but he still has his underwear on. By the time I get to him and get his underwear off he is distracted or frustrated. Any suggestions for this?
@AndreaOlson2 жыл бұрын
Let him go "commando" for awhile with no underwear! It is easier to push pants down without them, plus at 15 months clothing manipulation is a pretty advanced skill! Great job little one 🙌

@@AndreaOlson 😂 that’s the issue he doesn’t bother to try to get the clothing off before sitting down. I will try the commando option and see if this helps him!

@@carmellegarcia7900 I had a similar issue too! What worked for us is that when he ran to the potty, he would shout "i need to pee!!" then the closest adult would run over and get the pants down. When he was closer to 3yrs, we worked more on getting him to do it himself. 👍
