@4:23 a spiral cord cable on the harness side would really help. Getting up the pegs, safety in case one forgets to disconnect and minimal cable length dangling about to allow those things :). I DIYed one for my keis jacket and it's 30 cm,s not stretched but I only leave out about 20, the rest I tuck under the seat and it stretches up to 80 cms or so (so up to 1,2 m for the whole 30 cm cable) without any resistance that I can feel.

Stoked to start using this in the next month or so in and around Nova Scotia and definitely in the UK for June.

That was a great trip she went on! The Ectotherm is a great travel companion if it's going to be cold where you're riding.
@Darkracer89 Жыл бұрын
how about some batteries to cennect it to? like the macna ascent. 3h battery life on lowest setting would make it perfect for the transition from bike to tent :)
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey Darkracer89 - We've found that the AntiGravity XP-10 works great at powering the Ectotherm off the bike!

What a great jacket but anything over 60, I find mine too warm. I wear the Surveyor jacket for that.

I use my heated gloves about anytime I use a heated liner, so the lack of connectors to heated gloves keeps me from buying the Ectotherm. Also not sure how windproof it is.
@MoskoMoto10 ай бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! The Ectotherm was designed to be worn under separate armor and the wiring required for glove connection would have been uncomfortable. We do understand that many people use heated gloves and pants along with their heated jacket so it's definitely something we're interested in looking into! The exterior fabric is treated with DWR to help repeal the elements if you are wearing it when breaking down camp or loading a bike but if we're riding with it we typically have a windproof/waterproof layer overtop for the additional weather protection.

At 0:58 so when you are plugged in, your leave the flap out like that so the button is accessible so one is able to change from low/med/high on the fly while riding is that correct? kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZnKucqKwl9ign8U
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
Hey Jacob! Yep, you got it. You have the option of leaving the flap out for easy access to adjust the heat setting while riding.
@bnations2000 Жыл бұрын
@@MoskoMoto That is a great design for when you're wearing a separate pant and jacket combo, but how well will it work for a one-piece riding suit such as an Aerostitch, Klim, BMW, etc.?
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
The power cable shouldn't be an issue but accessing the power button might be tricky if there isn't a way for it to be accessible.@@bnations2000

It seems like the armor would compress the insulation if worn on the outside rather than the inside
@MoskoMoto2 ай бұрын
The fill we are using for the ectotherm is PrimaLoft Gold, with aerogel technology. Integrated directly into the fibers, aerogel further enhances the performance of synthetic insulation. Now not only will it perform better than down when wet, but it will also perform better when compressed under armor. This was one reason we selected it as the fill for the Ectotherm and why we say it works just as well when layered under armor.

Me too. What are you using for armor ?
@vin374 Жыл бұрын
Too bad there are no hookups for heated gloves
@MoskoMoto Жыл бұрын
We didn't put heated glove connectors because we wear the Ectotherm under our armor. The wires required for heated gloves would have made wearing the Ectotherm uncomfortable and then made it less likely we'd wear it on a trip.
