Very well done My take on heated gear is the 7v battery powered jacket . That way I can use for other things like Sking , winter hiking and still use for riding . If the Mosko were battery powered I would buy be cause their quality is out standing . Keep up the good work.

I have ridden in all weathers literally hundreds of thousands of miles. The single biggest best thing that I have done by a huge margin over my 40 year riding "career" was to start using heated gear about 20 years ago. It instantly negates being cold, uncomfortable and therefore unsafe on your motorcycle. Winter weather simply becomes irrelevant (apart from icy roads, obvs) Those that state it's not for them or not manly enough are frankly either deluded, in denial of more likely a bit stupid. It's a total no brainer.

You just need to be sure your bike's stator is rated for the load. Pushing a bike with a dead battery will also keep you warm! Not really an issue on a 1000cc street bike, more so for the small thumper dual sport crowd.

I personally have a Macna heated jacket wich is the most common brand in Europe and I have to say it is a game changer when riding in cold weather. I recommend to all the riders who ride in sub 10° C to get one and start enjoying riding all year round in total comfort, and if needed, adding a pair of heated gloves and pants.

Heated jackets are the best! Here is a tip…. I soldered the ends of a coax to my trickle charger so now I can quickly charge any of my bikes and they also all have the receiving coax coming from the bike for when I need to plug the jacket or vest into them. Just means you don’t need any adaptor cables.

It's impossible to overstate the value of heated gear for extended travel. Though I don't use mine very often, each time I do I feel as if the cost was insignificant when compared to the ability to ride comfortably on a day I otherwise may not have been able to ride at all. Last fall, I rode in SW Wyoming for several hours with the temps hovering in the mid 20's (F) and did so in complete comfort. Without the heated gear, there's no way I would have even set out. I've owned Gerbings for many years, but the product you show looks great and should certainly be considered by potential buyers.

Nice review, heated gear is a necessity to extend your riding season. Although Mosko makes great quality stuff it’s quite expensive. I’ve had Gerbings gear for many years, good quality. The current Gerbings heated jacket is about $100 less than the Mosko unit. You do have to buy a controller for a nominal cost, but the advantage to the Gerbings is the controller can be worn outside the jacket making adjustment easier than the Mosko unit on the inside. You don’t want to have to open the jacket or stop to change the temperature.

It’s a great jacket and I love mine but the hips are too snug and I can see you have the same issue. It’s more of a vanity issue and It doesn’t prevent me from wearing it but Mosko admitted they need to fix that issue. Not sure why they didn’t use a draw string method to allow for customized fitting. So many good ideas with Mosko gear with minor execution issues and sizing problems.

Wish you’d talked through fit and sizing on this video a bit. I’m short and stocky and worry about the fit-enough so that I reached out Mosko about it last year. Another great video Ian. I'm a big Mosko Moto fan myself. Wonderful people, great quality products and phenomenal customer service. Quick question... A Battery Tender typically has a 7.5 amp fuse. Over the years I've melted/blown a couple 7.5 amp fuses with the initial high draw my portable air compressor pulls at start up. I typically replace the 7.5 amp fuse with either a 10 amp or 15 amp fuse, and have had no problems since. Of course, Battery Tenders are fused at 7.5 amps for a reason. If your battery has a bad cell and/or cell issue, you do not want to feed it more than a specified amount of amperage. When using the Battery Tender SAE lead, in conjunction with the COAX adapter you've listed, (great idea, by the way) have you had any issues blowing/melting the standard 7.5 amp Battery Tender fuse when selecting the warmest setting on the Mosko Moto Ectotherm Jacket? Thanks again for the great job you do.

My worry about this jacket is that it's ~43watts and draws at 3.4 when the other 'top of the line' heated jackets are almost double that. I want to be able to ride down into temps around zero or lower so I just don't think this jacket would make me happy for the money. That's a shame because I do like the style. The biggest lie in motorcycling is that everything has to be proprietary. Meaning if it isn't "moto" gear it's crap. After hundreds of thousands of miles at age 60 in all types of bikes... I wear an Adventure Spec Super Shirt and whatever the hell I want over the top of it. Everyone is more concerned about what they wear how they look then the ride these days and gets all wrapped up in the marketing Magic.
