My kids had REALLY bad eczema when they were toddlers and this is what helped us: Switching up their lotions and creams. For whatever reason, a product would work, then stop after a while. So we had around 6 or so products that we would cycle with. Prescription creams worked, but bleach their skin, so we used those only when needed. Colloidal oatmeal is the holy grail!!! We always have a lotion with colloidal oil in the house now. Much cheaper and lasts longer then Aveeno's oatmeal bath packets. And for us, grinding our own oats isn't the same as store bought. Don't ask why.. this is just a personal observation. Ointments for bad flare ups, creams for minor flare ups. Creams can burn! However, you can make your own compound by mixing ointments with creams. There were times where we simply mixed vaseline with hydrocortisone for a quick fix. Don't give up!! We tried I don't even know how many lotions on one of my kids until we saw a product called Skinfix. It was expensive, but nothing else was working. It cleared her eczema in a week! And it was bad!!!!! Her feet, ankles, back of her knees, inner thighs, lower back, armpits, inner elbows, wrists, and even here eyelids were red and inflamed! She'd gotten a staph infection once from itching. However, Skinfix didn't help my son too much. So don't give up! This last one was a random discovery as I was attempting to solve a completely different problem- my son has tics so we made him magnesium oil which is just distilled water and epsom salt. Magnesium is good for cognitive health and best absorbed transdermal (aka through your skin). So we were spraying his arms, belly, and back. His arms had some eczema patches and cleared after a couple days. Turns out, magnesium oil is great for eczema, psoriasis, and acne.

I get massive clear fluid filled blisters along with flat “blisters”. These little “holes” on my skin that when squeezed, clear liquid comes on. I hate them, they themselves can get super painful. So it seems like no matter what, if I heal the eczema, I get the dyshydrotic eczema.

Healing gut is important it helps reduce flare ups(probiotics and lglutamine is helpful for quicker healing, clean liver from metals can help as well)also many tips you said is very good. For me moving to all time warm dry climate helped almost never have a flare up only when I travel back to cold countries where temperatures below 13 degrees. Make sure you are not intolerant to parafinum based ointments some people only breakout after few days of using them , initially it soothes skin but in long run it might be a trigger too

My face has been killing me right now, I can't even wear foundation and feel so insecure about my red patches and dryness on my cheeks. Thank you Dr Dre for sharing your knowledge with us for FREE! you may not know it, but you are changing lives, trust me.

I’ve been binge watching your videos. You’ve change the way I take care of and view my skin health. Thank you! I’m curious to hear your knowledge on baby products. You say fragrance can be a an irritant. I looked at my daughters products and they pretty much all are crap (I think based off what I’ve heard from you). This is scary in itself. Why the hell would they promote products that aren’t even good for our kids? I would assume their skin is even more sensitive. 🤷🏼♀️ I’d love to hear your knowledge on the subject. Thank you again for everything!

I developed eczema after a traumatic medical crisis exacerbated by the pandemic. Also had radiation treatments. I found the information on this video helpful and plan to try some of the suggestions. I developed eczema on my upper lip with scaling and cold-sore like crud on one side. Since I couldn't use the topical prescription stuff on it, I started using Carmex for chapped lips. It took awhile, but it worked. No more scaly lip.

Hello I am 66 years old. Never had eczema till a year ago. I try to wear gloves when I work . But my hands sweat so I cut off fingers of the gloves. It kind of works I work with cardboard boxes they are drying to skin , but when I come home I use coconut oil on them . It works until I go back to work.

Yes to stress causing flare-ups! Saw an older dermatologist years back who was very sarcastic and said "so you experience more stress than others in the world?' When I said I believe it is a trigger for me. Wish I could have shut him down, so rude!

I use creams with 7% ectoin on my flared up skin and it's the only thing that is able to help my skin calm down immediately. A couple of Bioderma sunscreens contain ectoin too, for example Bioderma Photoderm Max - have you tried it? Bioderma doesn't say how much ectoin is in their products, I bet it's not even close enough to 7% - but I can feel it works in a similar way as ectoin creams but just a little bit weaker.

Thanks for this video. I've ordered a couple of your recommended lotion products. Fragrances seem to be skin triggers for me and I also have cutaneous mastocytosis. I've been told to try and stay away from steroids by my derm doc. Eczema is frustrating to treat for both patient and doc. I appreciate the food trigger info you provide. My mouth mucosa is sensitive to "mint" in oral health care products. Mint candy? No problem. Go figure.

I was just diagnosed yesterday with eczema. I have had itching for 3 weeks. I haven’t been able to sleep at night. Ppl have been giving me advise like telling me to take Benadryl I had been taking Benadryl and using cortisone cream and gold bond powder. Nothing helped. It was becoming unbearable to live with. I think a lot of ppl have no idea just how horrible eczema is. They think it’s just a rash. No big deal The dermatologist gave me a Kenalog injection in the office and a medrol dose pack to take at home. I still get itchy though and I really hope this treatment will stop the itching bc I can’t live like this. It’s miserable

I only have eczema on my face. Such a bad spot for it because I feel that’s what everyone stares at when they talk to me. I have it right below my nose and it spreads to my lip, I have had this issues for 10+ plus years just a few months ago I finally found the right thick cream for my skin and it’s doing so much better. The only issues I have now is my lips. They hurt so bad and a dry and flaking skin, they are also cracked and bleed, no matter summer or winter it’s a constant issue. Any advice on how to help my lips?

Dear Dr Andrea, I am loving your videos, I'm so glad to have found you, after all these years, of this tormenting dyshidrotic eczema, mainly on my palms. It gives me hope, now that I can follow your tips, which are so systematic, yet easy to follow. Doc, please tell me, what soaps to avoid, or how to cleanse hands, cause I am bit of a germophobe. And with this pandemic, I'm forced to use sanitisers a lot, any guidance with regards to that, my dear? Deeply deeply grateful, already
