Nurturing and giving institutional expression to a solidarity of diverse people and scholarly communities on the African continent and its transnational diaspora summons the imperative of continuing the unfinished work of building a world that
is no longer colonial. But which methods are best suited to such decolonizing work? This presentation suggests that the concept of creolization, that emerged to grasp the distinctly African world of the Caribbean, remains an especially useful resource, especially if rearticulated and qualified in the ways this paper will further detail.
Le projet politique et institutionnel de rassembler, dans sa diversité et de façon solidaire, la communauté scientifique d’Afrique et issue de sa diaspora nécessite de poursuivre impérativement l’effort de construire un monde qui ne soit pas colonial.
Mais quelles méthodes sont les plus aptes à soutenir une telle mise en œuvre de la décolonisation ? On se propose ici de démontrer en quoi le concept de créolisation, qui permet de saisir l’ethos africain des Caraïbes, demeure opératoire et productif, particulièrement lorsqu’on en renouvelle l’approche.
