Thank you for this interview! I was just as mesmerized listening to him now as I was when we'd sit and talk to all hours. I've heard most of everything he shared here and it was so good to see and hear his voice again. I was blessed to have known him. Miss you, Ed. Zoot Reet!

It was a joy to see Ed, and it made me mournful at the same time. This lifted my spirit to a new height this morning. Thank you!!

Thanks for sharing. Ed was a dear, sweet, crazy, crazy talented man, and an outrageous entertainer. I lived with him for a while and got to see how his amazing mind worked. Good times, zoot reet.

"Put on your nose and glasses, cause we're going out tonight!" I can't believe I found this interview on KZbin. Thank you so much! I was so fortunate to know Ed for years and to live in Nashville in the early 80s and attend+ be a part of some of the events he mentioned. What can I say? Long Live Ed Dye! I miss the hell out of him! MyDaMnWoRd 😬🔫

Hi Dave! This may seem an odd question, and I'm happy to have a more in depth conversation about it, but was Ed's full name Edwin?

@@pbhalfbaked8243 you know man I have no idea. I 1st met him at a bluegrass festival in Woodstock Al in the early 70s. He was org. from Montgomery Alabama and I'm from B'ham. But alle I ever heard far as name goes was Ed, but it's usually short for Edward or could have been Edwin. Maybe some of these other close friends of his would know. I'm sorry but I'm stumped on that one.

I am so glad to see this video of Ed recounting some of his history in the bidness; and "The Good Olde Days" of the Station Inn and Springwater (AKA "The Slop Jar"), how Ass Tears came to be, the old Round Table and recalling so many of our mutual friends. Ed was such a force of nature and to say that he was one of a kind is so true, yet seems an understatement. I was so blessed to have known Ed and worked with him in bands throughout so many years. Thanks so much for this, it is a treasure.

I hung around the Station Inn for about six months in 1975 (Until my son was born and I had to make a living) and Met Ed and most of the people he mentions. Great music, interesting creative musicians and a welcoming atmosphere at the Station Inn.
