Absolutely loved this reaction and review on the episode. Especially love how much you picked up on all the background gags, names and writing. It genuinely brings a huge smile to my face seeing your reactions to all of the key moments in this episode, as well as your theories and interpretations of what's been shown so far. You're bang on the money with the stylistic choice - while the entire show is drawn digitally, I wanted to emulate the classic cel animation as best as I can, to make it seem like a time capsule. Eddy probably work's at a mom and pop restaurant, so when he gets to serve he probably gets tips.

Something I think you missed at the start, is that in one of the sticky notes Edd's parents said that they would be gone from July till September, as in they would leave their only child alone for such a long time. But then it cuts to him crossing out dates in the calendar, showing that it is October. With Eddy saying his parents aren't home, it is safe to say Double D's parents have either disappeared, or abandoned him, which would explain a lot about his demeanor. What the dream sequence tells me, or at least reminds me, is the series finale Movie's final scene. The Kankers dragging Eddy's unconscious brother into his trailer. I feel something bad might have happened afterwards. Also I think you got Jimmy and Johny mixed up. The one in the dream was Jimmy who we saw talking with Sarah. Not sure why he was wearing Eddy's brother's clothes.

Peach Creek is something that we thought died into the ether but I'm so glad it's still alive. I really can't wait to see where this goes with the more mature and grounded themes. Still, I'm happy the Eds' conversations are still golden. That final few minutes in May's dream/vision was incredible.

Yeah, this is gonna be good! As for Dream Jimmy’s words: 1- Yeah, he’s referring to Ed leaving most likely, but it may also be foreshadowing problems between the Kanker sisters: Lee has been trying to keep her sisters close out of a need of family, Marie has become more independent, and May is trying to figure herself out, which is leading to her drifting from her sisters. 2- This is referring to how Eddy was negatively influenced by his brother and that Eddy in turn has negatively influenced Jimmy. 3- No clue, it could mean that most of the stuff will be on screen.

0:55 - Actually it was "Go Cobblers", the sign's supporting the school's sports team(s). "Peach Creek Cobblers" 7:35 - It's a cover of "Land of the Rising Sun" 10:20 - Not 100% sure, but I think it's supposed to be a logo for the school. 12:25 - Might depend on the job, at some places getting to actually interact with customers is a more... "prestigious" position, if you could call it that. Plus Eddy's always seemed excited to give the kids his sales pitches when the Eds were pulling off a scam, so him getting to do that and actually get paid for it kinda makes sense. Or if "serving customers" means being a waiter, then he's probably excited about the tips. The creators of Peach Creek have stated that, in this show's canon, Double D has been diagnosed with OCD and mild depression, though he's not as neurotic as he was back in the official EEnE cartoon. His parents haven't abandoned him, but they're still almost never around and it's taking its toll on him. Ed's a lot smarter than he used to be, but he's still innocent and has his dumb moments. However, his parents' blatant favoritism towards Sarah is finally taking its toll on the big guy... Eddy relapsed into some of his old behaviors between the events of the movie and the events of Peach Creek, though he's not as bad as he used to be.

yeah no one's got a good home out of the three. Double-D either got abandoned by his parents or they disappeared, Ed had shit parents as a kid so he's bailing of his entire family, and Eddy honestly only had a shit brother who I think got kicked out by his parents (maybe a little strict but honestly hardworking folks yes it's my headcanon). honestly healthiest thing Ed could do was to leave, Double-D might either go homeless or into the foster care system eventually with his parents not showing up and paying any tax's/mortgage/utilities bill on the house, and now eddy might have to deal with a real possibility of having no friends.

I don’t like reboots cause it looses the essence of the classics. HOWEVER as a millennial, this revived the nostalgia from my subconscious! it’s still THEM in their elements but the tone is alot darker and Jesus it actually suits it!! 😭😭 I can’t wait to see where this sequel actually goes 👀

I don’t understand how Ed is helping his sister with her homework at all? Considering the fact that the last time he helped anybody with their homework, everybody failed. I'm just gonna say, as both someone who grew up on EEnE and is a tad overanalytical when it comes to the media I enjoy, I think this fan series is gonna deal the cul de sac kids growing up with the traumas at the hand of their families... possibly in the most Perks of a Wallflower way. There is just so many ideas introduced here with this short episode that my mind races at the potential. I have a feeling this series will be dark. Not in a horror or edgelord sort of way, but in a very somber emotional journey for each of the characters. Double D has depression, Eddy is still narcissistic as ever, Ed is done being the butt of everyone's jokes... and Johnny is talked about in an almost cruel manner... This series is looking to be very dark indeed.

Amazing stuff! But what the heck was Jimmy/Dutch talking about? The first one was obvious, the Ed's are needed for something but one of them is leaving. A corrupting force passed on to a curly o with a line is a complete blank, I have no idea what he's talking about there. I think the last part though is another meta indicator that they all know they're redrawn and continuing their stories. That second one is bothering the hell out of me though, but regardless this is shaping up to be an awesome show!

He’s talking about Eddy. Eddy is the way he is because of his older brother, who was a bully and a scammer, along with the antagonist of the tv film. Here, Jimmy is alluding to how Eddy taught Jimmy how to scam back in the tv show and in turn, may have passed on that corruption.

It just dawned on me that maybe Ed is almost 18 and his parents are counting down the days until they can kick him out into the world. So, to not give his parents that pleasure and save him some heartache, Ed kicked himself out. Also, maybe Edd is just withdrawing into himself more and more. It's not that he is done with Ed and Eddy, but it's just growing up is taking its toll on him. I mean, look at Edd's parents. Imagine what high hopes/demands they have of him. The Law Internship, school, etc., and Double D seems to be becoming more anti-social. That's just my thought though.

I'm still confused as well but her facial expression and the few we knew about her may allude that before she got more into the forced sisterhood, May saw Dutch as some sort of imaginary friend, and his appearance is an amalgamation of different things she likes, like some sort of boy of her dreams, has Jimmy's face, perhaps because she thinks Jimmy has an adorable face, a cool demeanor and a professional actor sounding like voice, indicating she possibly got that from watching TV romance dramas, dresses up like Eddy's brother, indicating she prefers more mature men. So she took a sign to reflect herself and call him by the name she gave him as if she is confused a fictional character in her head is talking to her in her dream. To give better explanation the only mentioning in the show is that "Dutch" tells her things, like some subconscious persona working as an advisor for her better judgement.
