What annoys me is if you look at the performances like against Slovenia a foreign manager wouldn’t get an easy ride like Southgate it reminds me of when we had Steve Bruce

Hi Chris. I don’t think it would be the right time for Eddie. He clearly has principles (Unlike one recent weasel) which is what makes him so exceptional. I also think he’s a day-in day-out hands on coach and the England job would not suit him. He’s at the beginning of a journey for Newcastle so he will want to finish it. I’m sure it’s a massive opportunity to manage England. And of course he would love to take that on and he’d be brilliant. And with the current talent, there is an opportunity to win something. But above all I think it’s his honesty and commitment which will result in him saying no thanks. I will add that he is held in very high regards by the vast majority of the fans and that will also be important to him.

What is it that Eddie says? ... Intensity is our identity! What was lacking in Southgates style and tactics and team selection?... intensity! England was ultimately overwhelmed by a Spain side that played with that intensity. I would love to think that if Eddie Howe had been in charge, with the current crop of English talent available and playing to Eddie's style, football would have come home at the weekend. . Saying that, the FA can piss off, and I hope they give the job to Potter.

I don't think Eddie Howe is going anywhere, he wants to develop himself at club level, maybe a few more years at Newcastle then he might go somewhere different. But he won't be taking the England job. The only reason why this story makes the rounds so often, is the same reason why the Isak, Bruno, Gordon stories won't go away. They're just trying to unsettle the club. The Prem doesn't care if he becomes the England manager, they just don't want him at Newcastle.

I think Eddie is settled at Newcastle and there is a big argument for him staying which is the side im opinionated on, however it does make some uncertainty in my mind now Amanda is gone.

I don't think eddie will walk away, i think he's fully committed to this project. My only slight concern as you touched on chris is amanda & mehrdad leaving. Could this be hinting at some unrest behind the scenes? Let's hope not.

Eddie would be a superb England manager but I hope he stays and completes the job. I imagine if Newcastle had Foden, Bellingham , Kane, Rice, Saka and Stones he would get better performances out of them than Southgate has managed. Having said the England aren't my team Newcastle are. I would rather Newcastle won the league Cup than England win yhe World Cup.

I'm okay with Eddie either staying or leaving. I regret turning on him towards the end of last season, but I do have lingering doubts I didn't have before. I don't think the club would stand in his way by asking for ridiculous compensation. It all depends on who we get to replace him, & I think the club would get it right. Nagelsmann for me is the ideal replacement, worst case scenario is Pochettino, which isn't too bad!

Does England really want a manager that picks his favourite players no matter what, and also uses his substitutes poorly 😁. It’s probably a couple of years too early for Eddie. Im sure he’ll feel honoured to be in the running but he seems to enjoy the more hands on approach that he has at club level. surprised that Klopp has not been mentioned he would probably get the best out of the young squad. Didn’t he leave Liverpool because of the week in week out pressure? Managing England would be less intense.

I hope Eddie stay Eales says today they want to keep him and he just sign secret multi year deal last year so they would have to compensate to pay they fight to keep him. He wanted Bruno to stay he be letting him down a long with rest of players and what about Lloyd Kelly he signed for him he be gutted.

I don't expect eddie to leave Newcastle right now. He wont get a bigger club than Newcastle unless he wins a lot. If he stays and achieves things at Newcastle then he may even think he could take on a bigger club. He is fighting against the idiots that have pigeon holed him as a certain level of manager. Not worried in the slightest.

Eddie Howe was not 'Protected by Amanda and Mehrdad". Makes ZERO difference. This is a meritocracy. Eddie is manager because he deserves to be. Mitchell et al who have come in have to deliver in bringing the players EH needs to be competitive. Eddie proved wit half the cabbage patch he can qualify for the UCL. Give the man 3-5 more top quality players this summer and he'll do the business again in the new season

Honestly, I believe there'll be a move to push Howe into the England job, so the Saudi's can bring in a Big name such as Klopp for the job. Then they may just splash some cash on a couple of top players
