FYI that village helping out Mei is called Youswell. It's the mining village that Yoki got swindled out of by Ed and Al because he was defrauding the villagers. They're on the up and up, good people :)

Yeah, Ed buy the village from Yoki with a ton o gold he transmuted from the charcoal of the mines and give the ownership to the people. Before he leave the village he transmuted the gold back to charcoal. It's a pretty cool arc the anime skip.

@@AndreLuiz-xf6el They skipped it because it was covered in the 2003 series and for good or ill they tried to avoid repeating storylines from the first show. That's also why they skipped over other little things like how Riza got her puppy Black Hayate and the introduction of Alex's inexplicably cute little sister Catherine but given how prevalent Yoki is in the story they really should've reprised the Youswell plot.

@@jeremygilbert7989 I know, but still a shame. FMA Brotherhood is my favorite anime, but it could be much better if they hadn't make it in the assumption that every one had watched the first one. The story of the brotherhood with the character development of the classic, the perfect anime.

That scene where Winry walks in on Ed is my second favorite scene in the series. Not because of boobs and slapstick, but for that one English dub line "I think it's a cautionary tale about guns.". Ed really just wanted a lunch in peace. (Also, low key shade thrown about the time she picked up one.)

Your genuine reaction to this show is so cute. Especially how you react to Ed and Winry, and Al and Mei. In which case, you're going to LOVE the ending. FMAB is based off the manga version is SO much better than the anime FMA. This version is out together so much smarter with how they make you care for the characters and puts so much meaning and emotions behind it. They did it right.

The first anime was great too, just a bit jumbled at times, but it was the reason I became such an avid FMA fan. The direction it took was interesting, but I agree that FMAB/the manga were much better. I think the original anime did well with making us care about characters though. With Nina and Hughes we got to know the characters and relationships more in the original which, personally, made their deaths more impactful.

This is the Youswell mining town. In the manga, May Chang actually met these villagers when she first arrived in Amestris. But since Brotherhood left out Yoki’s introductory storyline, they also removed that, as well.

Funny thing: we never see Ed giving Winry her earrings back. The Mangaka either didnt think it was that important, or simply forgot. 🙃 Also a Reader asked where Ed keept them on his journey and she made a Joke drawing were Edward transmuted them into his Automail Leg.

I absolutely love how Ling-Greed is the culmination of the Homunculus that died to Bradley and the human that survived fighting Bradley. Having the kaleidoscope of instincts to deal with his many potential 1-shots is so badass

I like the Scene where Ed joines Greeling. Its a level of humbleness you wouldnt see from many Shounen Protagonists. And the Scene at the End of the second Episode is a bit confusing. They Soldiers under Mustang in Ishval. They where so lowranking he didnt even remembered them at first, when the war was over. This leads into him feeling guilty for not knowing all the Comrates who served and died under his Command. It was a important Scene for his developement in the Manga War Flashback.

3:41 I never really liked this scene, it's disrespectful to Alex. Olivier is tough and badass, but she is an ordinary woman, she has military training and experience, but Alex is a 7ft tall hulk of a man with alchemy whom also has lots of military training and experience, so let's be honest, if he was actually serious about taking her down she wouldn't have stood a chance. I guess that just goes to show it doesn't matter what your abilities are if you don't have the resolve to use them, as Olivier basically said.
