I can't believe how stupid a controversy it is that a leading politician ran against his brother, who was also a leading politician. It's not the Mafia or Tudor England or something. Most ridiculous talking point ever and embarrassing that it might have had an impact on the result of a general election. I never liked his brother anyway. Just my opinion.

one word man I'm sure Adam is aware enough to know not to ask questions like that when the politician in question is up for election. He rarely even has politicians up for election on the show. Ed Milliband isn't currently on the political scene (wasn't when this was filmed either) and can't be elected so that opens the option for so many more questions. Besides it's a comedy show as well, so it's not as serious as say BBC news, which means what is said in the interview isn't going to have a lasting impact anyway because most people can distinguish between contexts

@@hannahsmart4494 I think you're right in relation to this clip, but it did become a talking-point of the Murdoch media at the time of the 2015 election. It's tough to know what impact it ended up having on the result, and I'd like to think it was minute, but as a "controversy" still within the public consciousness it's difficult to remove from the slew of derogatory reporting from the media at the time.
