This song is one of High Focus’ all round best tracks and the view count is a piss take! Each individual artist delivers exquisitely, beautiful poetry and the visuals are on point... Years later and it still hits me. Thank you lads 🙏 x

I live in USA. Yall are better than us at our own music. lyrics are far superior, your British beats are better. nobody is screaming about how much money you have, real hiphop lyrics. scratch is better. good job. least we still have underground. maybe.
@realbr1koo5 жыл бұрын
Oh dude, if you would understand other european countries rap lyrics and the wordplay in it you would drop your jaw. Aint dissing, but english just cannot be that deep like some languages around here.
@samuelchuathecool5 жыл бұрын
@@realbr1koo I'm not sure I agree. English has a capacity for technical expression due to its Germanic roots, whilst also having a fluidity that stems from its Romantic roots. Poetry is beautiful in all languages, but is specific. The Haiku is an incredibly emotive tool in Japan, but takes on a different character in English. Given the sheer heritage and proliferation of British (and later also American) poets of the past, and subsequently the assimilation of the heritage of spoken word and story telling from African-American immigrants that combines with a huge history of musical genres: Hip Hop, and indeed Rap, seems to take on a different quality that suits the English flow. If we all spoke like the queen, we might not have HighFocusTV, but since English is such a mixture of languages and culture we get Ed Scissor and Contact Play spitting the maddest bars in a way that could only be done in England.
@realbr1koo5 жыл бұрын
@@samuelchuathecool Yes, i know, every language has its roots. I meant mainly the fact that English (compared to other languages) doesnt have a huge word-treasure, and it is also extremely simple built up. Thats why i said if english speakers would understand other european rap musicians they would be amazed of the capability of their languages and the almost endless possibilities of playing with words.

Think it was the who (that era at the least and very influential at the time like the who), who had their guitarist say on record that the only music with meaning about these days was UK hiphop, because nothing else really carried propper lyrical content anymore, this was a few years back granted but other than some grime artists i personally still agree with tht statement

Unknown Female Spoken Sample} Your move, bishop to knight four. My move, knight to rook three {Verse 1: Jam Baxter} Shit, I'd best warn everyone Where'd you get that confetti? Come sell me some So we can celebrate the day that our twenty one nail bomb salute spelt a death for the setting sun Let 'em run Their brittle femurs were built to snap Too proud to crawl out the thrall of a simple trap Prescribe a pill for that Pilfer that bag of jewels Luminous thieves in the blackness A pack of fools With pack mentality We pack less gravity Dark auras hover in a hand stretched canopy A strangled menagerie Landed a job Landing a lost plane in a land where the fog reigns king With strange skin ever shrinking And fifty two eject buttons blinking Guess that's a win win but wings cost extra Send your cheques to the pigeon in the blender {Verse 2: Mr Key} My mother was a princess my father was a king Spring, summer, autumn and winter to spring Blackbirds singing I see God in all things And as the earth spins it ends and begins again My beauty is the simple - a cosmos sprays off a single stem Turn men to kings, turn kings to men In the blink of infinities I think again What you think? I ain't sure I ain't mastered my thoughts I'm staring at the stars laughing trying to ask them for more Like the universe isn't enough - nor's infinity drugs And I swore that I was giving it up Quantum leap - Ziggy's not watching me What'd you mean? What'd you mean son? It's simple as a crystal Dynamic systems sinking through the blissful Thimble full of ink to pour symbols in my ritual {Verse 3: Ronnie Bosh} I didn't see the mirrorball shatter but there's glass on the dance floor Saw the line flatten - asked any last thoughts The shards plot paths to your yard's door Hard fought sagas you are what you ask for Pass more shit through your system for wisdom The masked hoards drift in to the distance Last call for the tricksters and vixens Mixed with a difference I shift like the pistons And yes I guess I did something once And yes yes whatever next dunce is done They bled red I sever flesh drunk the blood And left death a step ahead crumbling punk It's like fresh leaves turning into red leaves autumn Dead leaves turning into fresh green portions Bless these vermin as the rest keep talking Emcee turning kids to next weak orphans

Verse 4: Dirty Dike} With my eyes black staring at the white on the page I try to crystallise my mind and ignite into flames The price of the game - either catch the vibe or the shame And try and wipe away the silence when you're hyping the stage I fly into space - right beside this guy and his mates A giant face screaming cry James - die and escape Try and erase the bad lies violence and hate Try and abide the bad guy try and behave Try and replace a man's mind at night with a spade Try and climb mad high at night at night in the rain Try falling - sitting in the water and dry's calling Committed 9 sins and the fucking pigs caught him Nothing's this awesome a fucking big box full of bloody sick drops that some other kids taught him His mother sits balling her stubborn little eyes out A son still alive in another prison life now {Verse 5: Edward Scissortongue} Starter for ten Who's that parking the car in the grey suit? Last seen parcelling carcinogens with the top down targeting artforms darker than death It was 4am when the sky split sideways - i saw bright steam Bellow from the skyline crunching Life gushed hard on this one-a-penny whitewash Starved on a monetary timeclock sunken Calling all workers - report to the docks where the bullets fly One last ship leaves these shores Drawn to the furnace - nine hour shifts with the shovel when there's foul play Pistons and coal heaps Better life parchment - next life setting sun - time grows darker Heaven might sell us some better lives after the carnage has settled So disarm the grenades and pass them to everyone
