It’s because he has written thousands of songs it’s just natural for him. It’s just very hard work. He said that when he started he would wake up learn guitar before school, then at school breaks he would learn guitar in music class then come home and play until he went to sleep and repeated that every day. Then two years later he started writing songs once he was good at guitar 1 to 5 a day everyday and never stopped. He moved out at 16 and busked every day on the streets for around 4 years until he got recognition from a performance on ‘sbtv’ then had his album plus come out and ever since he has just become greater and greater. I would say he probably put in 12,000 hours before he made his first successful album. So the 10,000 hour rule works. Btw the 10,000 hour rule means you can master anything in 10,000 hours, well not master but become great. I’m so proud of Ed for proving everyone wrong,he is the last person anyone would think of to become a successful musician and he did it 👏👏Anyway here we are and Ed’s on top of the world. The lesson we can learn is if you put the work in and I mean work, you can truly do whatever you want to in life, accept from being president of America if you’re born somewhere else lol. Try not to do what you want for the wrong reasons like, money and fame though because it’s just societal cravings that are portrayed to make us happy. We can never satisfy our cravings in life, I mean look around,do most rich people seem happy, the ones that do are happy (meaning they have more happy experiences) because they have time to progress themselves and that makes them feel good. The only thing that can satisfy in life is loved ones and our experiences in life. Oh and the whole happiness think, it’s rubbish. Without sad moments humans would fail to survive. Its programmed into us. Think of it this way if we was always happy, why get out of bed in the morning. enjoy all feelings for they are all a blessing. Also sadness is what makes you want to do something for yourself,so it’s a good thing. Anyway sorry for going philosophical. It’s just everyone over values money in todays world and spends their lives in autopilot longing for whatever others want. Don’t be a sheep, find your own meaning even if it’s looking at a wall for 6 hours a day😂 I don’t know. There is no meaning to any of this, or maybe there is but it doesn't matter ether way, so you can do whatever you want but to live a virtuous fulfilling life is way more rewarding. If you do make something big for yourself pass your knowledge on, don’t be selfish otherwise there was no point in you existing then and have children because you basically pass on yourself in them. I mean all the brilliant minds we’ve had and most of them never shared how they did what they did, it could’ve help us. I’ll shut up now, lol

@@icedking6268 Love Yourself has been streamed over 1.4 billion times on Spotify alone, their payout rate being on average $0.0032 per stream, that's over $4 million in revenue from 1 platform alone (granted, Ed won't receive all of the royalties, but he's entitled to at least 1/3 of those paid to the 3 songwriters). Then add all the radio play, with most major stations being charged between $50 - $200 per play - Love Yourself was the most played song on American radio in 2016, with over 4 billion impressions. Then add KZbin views - over 1.4 billion on the official video alone (KZbin pay figures are harder to accurately calculate but taking into account the average they supposedly pay between, $3 and $5 per 1,000 video views, the figure is at the least $4million, at most $9 million (this doesn't include the revenue from all the separately uploaded versions, official and unofficial, covers, etc.) Then add royalties from streams with the other leading streaming services such as Apple, Amazon, Tidal, Google, etc. (impossible to calculate figures due to insufficient data), easily into the tens of millions of dollars. Then add royalties from its use in TV, film and media (insufficient data), easily into the hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars. Then add the royalties from the purchase of the single as a digital download (over 15 million copies according to various sources) and the album which contains the single (be it digital download or a physical copy, Ed will receive a cut from every copy sold, the rate of which is different based on the format purchased - lowest amount being from digital download, then CD, then vinyl, etc). Of course the two previous figures might also take into account album-equivalent unit sales from streaming but still, we are talking the generation of millions of dollars just from one song. It’s actually pretty standard on any given tour bus as of late! J. cole, Logic, and many others have them on their buses to record on the road

Imagine if the lyrics went “my momma don’t like you and she likes everyone. My brother don’t mind you but he knows that I was wrong”

Benny has almost Rick Rubin vibes when working with artists, such a nice person and incredible producer. Ed is on fire on songwriting!

Lol actually I did the same thing most of the time whenever I sing this song before I even saw this video. 😅

Exactly I did the samething. I would always say, f yourself instead of love yourself when I first heard the song. 😂 Than too find out now that it was originally supposed too say f yourself. They should've kept it. 😂😂😂
