That unique plaintiff dylanesque timbre will be striven for in this song type but will remain just that- unmatchable.

I absolutely love Ed Sheeran. I got to see him in NJ September 2018 and it was just himself and a guitar and that's all he needed. He's absolutely amazing and a beautiful soul.

Dylan’s songs are deceptively hard to cover well. It’s not about the notes and chords it’s about the phrasing and expression and intention of the songs. This song is extensively covered because of its timeless classic beauty. Many covers are valiant attempts but fall short somehow. This cover is really good and faithful to the Dylan version. I also have my own cover of this up on my channel if you’re interested. I changed the key and gave it a different vibe but strived to reproduce the world intensity of passion.

I never thought in a million years that Ed Sheeran wouldn't sound as good as Bob Dylan.

@LeiderVerdrueckt4 жыл бұрын
@owen gardiner Yeah true. You don't need to play the original version immediately. It's a good song to learn guitar I think. Some basic chords, nice lyrics and a rather simple melody. Later when you get comfortable you can learn the picking picking pattern and the runs.

It was actually my 4th song I learned on guitar it’s came pretty natural to me. The singing with it took awhile but after 3 days I got it.

I'm getting so fucking tired of seeing an endless amount of people complaining about modern day artists covering old legends like Bob or Jimmy Hendrix.. Be grateful these artists were inspired by these legends which led them into covering these songs. If they didn't, most younger people would't have ever heard these really well written lyrics. "He isn't worth the song", "His bubblegum voice shouldn't sing these lyrics" , "He is singing this so bad". Jezus Christ, have you guys even listened once closely to Bob's singing? He was arguably the worst singer of his time who was able to hit the charts. To me it simply sounds like a bunch of elders who aren't willing to open up their eyes to artists of the present...

LYRICS: Well it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe Ifin' you don't know by now An' it ain't no use to sit and wonder why, babe It'll never do some how When your rooster crows at the break a dawn Look out your window and I'll be gone You're the reason I'm trav'lin' on Don't think twice, it's all right And it ain't no use in a-turnin' on your light, babe The light I never knowed An' it ain't no use in turnin' on your light, babe I'm on the dark side of the road But I wish there was somethin' you would do or say To try and make me change my mind and stay We never did too much talkin' anyway But don't think twice, it's all right No it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal Like you never done before And it ain't no use in callin' out my name, gal I can't hear ya any more I'm a-thinkin' and a-wond'rin' wallkin' way down the road I once loved a woman, a child I am told I give her my heart but she wanted my soul But don't think twice, it's all right So long honey babe Where I'm bound, I can't tell Goodbye is too good a word, babe So I just say fare thee well I ain't sayin' you treated me unkind You could have done better but I don't mind You just kinda wasted my precious time But don't think twice, it's all right

great cover - if anyone has any doubts about that pick up a guitar and give it a go : )
@danielplainview14 жыл бұрын
The finger picking and the hammers in the original make the soulful aspect of it for me. And yes I can pick up a guitar and play them. Granted Ed’s voice is more mournful, but the song is really about the underlying feelings that linger behind the lyrics for this person, and the almost coarse adolescent tone of Dylan’s delivery shows that in a way this version doesn’t. Ed’s version knows what the relationship meant to him but Dylan’s version conveys that voice didn’t fully get what it was abandoning.

Why does everyone think Dylan wrote Dont Think Twice? Didnt anyone read the Freewheelin jacket cover. I have the album and did read it. Dylan says hes interpreting a song others were singing at the time. He says its a hard song to sing but he hopes he'll get it right some day. And in case you didnt know. Its Bruce Langhorn on guitar with Dylan playing harmonica. Its on Capital records. Some one of you must have the record. Read the jacket cover please.
