I’ve been waiting for this reaction. Big up Lee. Nice touch for Jamal’s club Chelsea to host this and put Jamal’s name up in the stands. Also heartbreaking when Ed said Jamal felt like the scene abandoned him 💔😞 rewatching the video I’m sure the shaky entrance to the stadium at the start was intentional as it reminded us of Jamal’s early videos where it was raw footage taken?

Ed is a national treasure. RIP to his brother Jam. Edit - I have read that Ed sang this to Jamal's mum before recording this but that Jamal's sister was here when she heard it for the first time. Man that is deep. Edit 2 - and I think Jamal's death happened around the time that Ed had learned his pregnant wife had cancer.

For those that don’t know, Jamal was SBTV. He was the one who put a camera in front of Ed Sheerans face all those years ago. He got him in the booth completely free of charge because he saw his potential. When Ed blew up Jamal wasn’t his manager, or his security. Not did he ever ask for a cut of anything to do with sales or merchandise. First and foremost he wanted to see his friend succeed and it’s thanks to Jamal that we have some artists today like Jessie J, Devlin, Elro and so on who were put on by Jamal. He really was selfless and his F64 series put artists on the platform. SBTV was the place to be for up and coming rap artists in London. Especially this urban grime era that came in in the early 2000s. Jamal really rode that wave and bought everyone in with him. This was SUCH a loss for Ed and for the music scene in general. Jamal could just pick out talent and had the connections to put it in place to get that talent the attention they deserve. RIP Jamal

@@travishutt450 Ed and a guy named Jamal Edwards grew up together. Jamal created the KZbin channel SBtv and would upload videos of Ed and other up and coming artists. "You Need Me I Don't Need You" is one of Ed's first videos Jamal put on the channel. Last year Jamal died of an overdose and it really tore Ed up because they were friends since kids and both had the same passion for music. This is Ed's tribute to him.
