I usually hear people sing Joni songs, and hang up 3 bars into the song. Three exceptions: 1. Emmylou Harris singing Magdelane Laundries, 2.Cyndi Lauper singing Carey, 3. You. Beautifully done

I’m exactly the same. Very hard to be done. Like anyone else trying to sing Freddy Mercury. Near impossible. But Brandi does it beautifully. Also the only other non Joni version of this I enjoy is by the beautiful Portuguese singer, Ana Moura. Stunning.

My brother showed me the song Coyote on his phone, he said, look, Joni AND Dylan in the same song. Wow, and what a cool song and with a Nick Drake-esk guitar riff. Joni is still alive isn´t she? I asked. Yes, ha said, I can´t remember any news about her..? So googeling her name I read she had a brain anurism in 2015 that made her lose her ability to walk and talk. But then I saw a live video from 2022 where she sings A Case of You with Brandi Carlile, and how good that made me feel. Back on stage, hitting those notes perfectly and a woman called Brandi truely lifted the song to another level of beauty. So this week I have been blessed with two songs new to me "Coyote" and "A case of you", and a new artist to me Brandi Carlile, and I have been playing them on repeat. I think this will unvail a box of gems, or box of paint in different colours, if you will, for me over the next few months or years. Also, I really have to go visit Canada some day. (I live in Norway)
