Lee, I appreciate that you dig into all kinds of interesting systems built with Pi and similar. I know industrial stuff like this isn’t everyone’s bag, but I work/play in both worlds, and this little unit is exactly something I’d show to my clients.

Thanks Lee for exciting CM5 module case. However I am waiting for your Video from the North Pole to verify the -25C specification...! Happy Boxing Day and a late Merry Christmas! I have a CM5 on my wish list when it is available for me to replace my CM4 module in my ClockPi Uconsole computer kit.

In the meantime we are launching CM5 based HMIs and PLCs and I'm sure you'll get them soon!

DIN rails are metal (occasionally plastic) rails which modules snap onto, very handy for mounting stuff into a box. Voron 3D printers use them, most CNC controllers use them.

Can't wait for more CM5 content. I've found the easy way to install is imager to usb stick (Samsung bar) - then sd card copy to eMMC. No need for jumpers. Christmas or other!

Don't think that's the gap where the emmc would've been. It's on the back of those cm5 models that have it.

That would look great on my Victron wall. I currently have 2 Rpi 4 's running Venus OS. The Din connection would allow me to add the Pi to my circuit breaker Din.

regular rpi config.txt can react to a gpio begin high or low, e.g. set low initially, then if high (pulled up to 3.3v thru push button) it does some other settings, if still low it does what you would call default settings, "wifi sheep yt channel did a demo", but expect it to be documented somewhere on rpi forum or docs.

😮 it raise me a question... how cm5 is compared (size and performance) with high-end smartphone (like Samsung s24, redmagic s9) ? ... maybe an smartphone with cm5 will be wild😮

I’m afraid Pi CPUs are several generations behind current phones, and critically don’t have dedicated neural processors. You could definitely make one work as a phone, but it wouldn’t be that good. Sorry - I looked hard at this too. 🤷

Thank you so much for this amazing video! Just a quick off-topic question: My OKX wallet holds some USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How can I transfer them to Binance?

for a very robust and custom design, if it was providing feedback in a production process where an hour downtime is costing the company thousands ...

@@jyvben1520 Came to say exactly this. And this case looks like it could survive a light hit from a dolly. Not that I’ve ever crushed a unit with one. No, not me.

$280.00 US and: Only 1 external WiFi antenna with a 3x card. No battery. 1x 100 Mbps ethernet jack. (I'm more upset they cut a hole for it). I think I'll pass. Nice, honest, review though.

If another shortage from PI happen, this product will suck the disponibility of RP for people like us. Not shure that a youtuber should push industrial product.

Industrial use is very important to Raspberry Pi. I don’t see that I’m pushing it, just showing what’s available

Yeah, sadly, after the past five years Pi wouldn’t have survived without industrial demand. It’s a mixed blessing….

Then that's your fault for not putting effort into understanding computer platforms well enough if you're so reliant on Raspberry Pi only that a shortage restricts what you can do during a shortage. I had no such problem during the pandemic because plenty of other SBC platforms (like Orange Pi) and used SFF PCs (due to the number of silly people "upgrading" to bloated and privacy-hating Windows 11) were available, and I have put in the hard work over the years to understand how to build (Gentoo) Linux on just about any platform. The problem with the majority of the Raspberry Pi community is that it *should* be comprised of "makers" who are prepared to sit at a workbench and try things out for themselves to learn and understand these systems better. Unfortunately, the community is made up of people who can't do anything on their own with a computer, won't read books or manuals and need a step-by-step video from creators like Lee here to be able to do anything with it. If I put an Orange Pi in front of most of those people and said "put Linux on it", they wouldn't have a clue where to start. What's even worse is I see comments here from people like "can you make a video about.." a specific topic when several such videos already exist elsewhere on KZbin - so they're even too lazy to look elsewhere on YT for what they want.

@leepspvideo ok, well I am trying to install d3d11_32 and 33 direct x drivers or the dvxk drivers I got them and still everytime I use proton 9, 7 or proton experimental it says I need some dll file or components and slender threads prologue is green and white with the sniper plugin or the default runtime in steam for raspberry pi 5, I keep asking chat gpt and it isn't solving the problem but it did fix my sound for my TV in the boot firmware config file.
