Good morning Doc, It's Ijeoma again. It was fun learning from you, I never knew working with this tool is very simple considering the emphasis that recruiters make on it. Thank you so much for this great opportunity, what an impactful learning experience. Please what do you do when you encounter an error message when testing the output on your device considering that you don't have any error on the form? How can you make changes to the form so it reflects on your device? Thank you
@PublicHealthResources2 жыл бұрын
Hi Ijeoma, can you let me know what kind of error message you have so I can help you to troubleshoot the problem. If you make changes to the form on ODK build, you may need to manually upload the new form into ODC collect on your mobile if you manually entered the form into your phone in the first instance. Otherwise if you are using the server, once you make a change, you can download the new form directly to your mobile phone. Please kindly note that ODK build is good for scripting simple forms but if you want to build a more complex form you may need to go to xlsform or Kobotoolbox. You can still use the forms on the ODK collect app on your mobile phone. Let me know if you have any other issues.

I have a list of regions and districts, I want to create an ODK app so that a data collector after selecting a particular region then can be able to see the respective districts under one region etc. Should I use the "Show question if" under advanced menu? or there are some additional settings I should do? Thank you

Great question Mr Johnson. Which platform are you using for form development? ODK Build, Kobotoolbox, ONA or good old Xforms?

@@PublicHealthResources am using ODK build
@SPSS4RESEARCH2 жыл бұрын
@@johnsonmshiu4837 Hi Johnson, I am replying you from my other channel handle, I couldn't find your response on my public health channel. It is a lot easier if you knew how to use Kobotoolbox. But it can still be done with build. You will need to use the cascading select option. Once you use a select one question, check off cascading select, you may need to use the "bulk edit" feature to input all your entries if they are much. In the bulk edit, fill in the underlying values and hit "apply". That's it. Let me know if you still have any issues with it. Cheers Mr Johnson 👍

Thank you so much Doc. Very easy to follow teachings. Quick question? If I have a question that's linked to a picture to evaluate respondents knowledge of what the picture connotes e.g "After using your covid-19 RDT and you get "my imputed picture", is the result positive, negative or invalid (choose one)....so what's the way to put in pictorials as questions. Thank you!
@PublicHealthResources2 жыл бұрын
Great question Yemisi, you will need to use XML forms to do that. ODK BUILD and Kobotoolbox don't have that functionality yet. Do you know how to construct an xform?
@yemisiadaka75332 жыл бұрын
No Sir, I don't know how to construct a xform. Would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

@@yemisiadaka7533 I will be making a video soon God willing on xls forms but I know you may be pressed for time so No worries . if you are building your form in ODK build or Kobotool box, put the questions correctly with the options and just pretend the image is there. 😀. Hello 👋. Thank you for this wonderful job. Question : how do we make the condition on skipping question ? Like telling to skip Section B if response to A1 is No?
@PublicHealthResources Жыл бұрын
Great question Joel! It’s quite simple, just go to the properties panel (on the right) at the bottom of this panel you will see where it says “Advanced” . You can use the “show if” feature to set the logic on whether a question will show or be skipped based on conditions you set for it. I hope this helps?

Is it possible for all questions to appear on one page in ODK app rather than keep scrolling to the next page for each question?

Thank you for efforts and always contributing to knowledge. Kudos Sir. I don't get the Loop option. Also, do you have plan on tutorials on QDA?
@PublicHealthResources2 жыл бұрын
Thank you Chief Kayode for your compliments. The loop option is for questions you want to ask repeatedly say for example you are interviewing the head of a household and you want to collect the age and gender of all the household members, you will need to loop these variables so you can collect for all the members of the household. I hope this helps?

If you have a quite large number of samples to collect, how does Odk help to get the data collection faster?
@PublicHealthResources Жыл бұрын
Great question Uzoamaka. If I get your question correctly, ODK (and any other electronic tool) will definitely help you collect faster when compared to using paper 📝 forms. It’s easier and faster to scroll on a mobile phone than paper and for forms that are advanced, ODK will take you through the skip patterns and the logic checks without breaking a sweat. I hope this answers your question?
