Critically underrated video. Super glue is useful for first aid; sewing needles can be used for wound closure; duct tape can be used for everything, plus fire starting, etc.

Good luck sewing up a wound with a common sewing needle. I’m an healthcare provider and have sutured wounds without local anesthesia using suture on a cutting needle. That’s a struggle, even when using a needle made for the purpose

I have had one like this made up for years ,it's so handy I end up grabbing this before my regular tools, biggest thing I can say remember to refill once in a while !
@Brian_G_USMC28 күн бұрын
You should add a bic lighter or mini bic inside the bank line handle. It’ll help with securing paracord, a fire starter, helps with welding plastics together. All sorts of stuff
@r.samuelfranks36155 күн бұрын
Great video! I also carry the small tube of J.B. Weld, a small amount of aluminum foil, electrical tape, and a few nails. Most importantly, although it won't fit into your pouch, I always have some sort of hammer, and a small pry bar.
@codybill2428 күн бұрын
Great idea! A basic repair kit for random stuff is always useful even just for everyday items, and could be even more critical at any given time. Carrying a simple emergency sewing kit, for example, has helped me (or others) numerous times in a pinch. I barely even know how to sew properly, but it's not hard to make a temporary repair. Highly underrated, and I hadn't considered making a dedicated repair kit, but I think I will now!

Good fairly small/medium repair kit-screwdriver bits with driver (with or without ratcheting), at least 2 sources of light 💡, glue, notepad with writing instrument, zip ties (you can connect several smaller zip ties into a larger zip tie), repair tape, needle with thread, small diameter wire, (I’d have a small metal hacksaw blade/wood and plastic blade), multitool, adjustable wrench, mirror (to see underneath), small diameter rope/cordage, extra batteries, and some basic tools I’m almost always grabbing to fix something.

I always called them crescent wrenches until I realized they were adjustable end wrenches made by many different manufacturers. But to this day when one says crescent wrench people know exactly what you're talking about.

Good kit setup. You can always think of something else to add, but you've got most of the basics covered. This is an excellent addition to any backpack setup for survival, fishing, or a day at the range. There's hardly any situation I can think off where something like this would not be of benefit.

I love the addition of some of the "forgotten" things like sewing. Yeah, I've learned to sew buttons back on my shorts - - either they get smaller, or I get bigger! haha But it is one of those things I think a lot of folks don't think about or consider... yeah, there's barbed wire, there's snags and branches and slides down hills and animals, etc... Being able to do a quick, passable field repair on a jacket, pants, tarp or rain cover is highly advantageous... not to mention learning a few basic sutures wouldn't hurt!!
@Olyphoto712 күн бұрын
I suggest adding some MeFix tape (great for first aid and quick fabric repair), a lighter, heat-shrink tubing, pre-threaded needle, swap out regular zip ties for reusable zip ties, and a few dog poop bags (great for holding small parts).
@LostLittleElfАй бұрын
That looks packed out but I could see adding a mini tape measure, blanket pins, Coghlan's tent repair kit, silcock wrench, and maybe a ring of heavy equipment keys. Great info as always thanks!

I’d add a magnet on a ring that you could use to retrieve a dropped set of keys, and perhaps upgrade the precision screwdriver to a 10 in 1 with some torx or hex bits to work on electronics?

Hey Don. Though I am sure that you have it elsewhere in your bug out bag or pack, I would suggest adding another firestarter or matches here. Having the ability to make fire is second only to water (I think), that I would risk the redundancy to have that also in your EDC Repair Kit. FWIW.
@SensiblePrepperАй бұрын
Thanks Paul, I agree that fire starters are vital to survival. I decided to leave this as a repair kit and have your fire kit handy in your Get Home Bag. But that's the beautiful thing about these kits. Very personal set ups to fit your needs.

General Tools Awl the tip detaches, reverses & stores in the handle at one time there were a small & large size also Sears Craftsman did one but they're gone now I added one to the Otis/Gerber Soldiers Toolkit
