Similar styling to the Fiat 124 Sport Coupe I owned in 73-79. What a great car and an engine like a sewing machine! DOHC 1600cc with a Weber carburetor and a five speed manual. I used to embarrass my pal with a 2002tii BMW coupe. Achieved 105 mph indicated on the salt flats with three people in the car and a load of camping gear (It wouldn't pull fifth gear). my favorite car.

@@branon6565 Bought it new in 1973, put a bazillion miles on it including Michigan winters, which wreaked havoc on Italian sheet metal. Sold the old dear in 78 for parts. Still miss that little red coupe!

You forgot to check the distributor shaft to make sure its absolutely straight, if its slightly bent by a few thousandths you will get an inconsistent spark.

Nice video on my 2nd favorite car, the Fiat Dino (E-type Jag # 1). Great mechanic but I always freak out whenever I see someone work in an engine bay without protectors for the paint surfaces on the fenders and slam tools or writing tablets on exterior painted surfaces. Not cool!

It’s not an Alfa, it’s a Fiat Dino coupe designed by Bertone.

It's the same engine used on the mid engined Dino(without the Ferrari badge ). This one is the arly 2000cc version, later ones had a 2400 cc engine. Fun fact ,the later bigger Dino engine was also used on the Lancia Stratos Rally cars

I don't think worn valve guides would have lowered compression. The leaking oil may have raised compression, by reducing the volume of the compression chamber.

for talking all that smack about Edd, there sure has been many many uploaded videos of late on this channel featuring Edd.... it might stick in ole Mike's craw but Edd unfortunately was the star, he may have let it go to his head according to reports.. but he is who he is. It is nice however that both sides have refrained from 'smearing' the other, Edd doesn't seem to want to go into details, and Mike has been pretty quiet as well, Edd said the show was going to hell in format, and Mike said Edd did something bad and was being a primadonna... so... 'shrug'.... Edd is still more marketable tv material in my opinion. Just seems odd to me, all these recent uploads of Edd, I know they own the rights.... but come on...

Junk! I owned two of these. Dreadful seating position with the floor too close and the steering wheel too far away. Useless parking brake (unless you pull up on it with ALL your strength). Warped cylinder head (twice on the same car). Captive suspension mounting nuts. The holes oval-out and then you have variable suspension geometry. One end of the carburetor linkage is attached to the carb... and the other is attached to... the firewall! Nothing like having to re-hook that up over and over. Sagging doors. Windows that don't close properly, or plastic parts that just gave up the ghost. Junk. Pure junk.

I had a guy who lived near me say exactly the same about the one he had!. I also worked at Brocket Hall in the UK for a few months & at the time Lord Brocket had the largest private Ferrari collection in the UK, it could of even been the World, i forget. His mechanic at the time was the late Jim Bassisto & a mate asked him if i could see the collection. Jim said not a problem & i went for a look. There were 3 246 Dino's one GTS & 2 GTB & lots of others, there was a 1962 GTO Daytona having full restoration & i had a wander, Ferrari's everywhere!!. Jim asked me what i thought & i said they are bloody amazing!. Jim said they may look O.K but they are rubbish!!, shocked me a bit!!. Jim's daily driver was a Ford Sierra 4 x 4 ...enough said!
