Picked up the 37s early last January as I began marathon training. They quickly became my favorite do-it-all shoe. Logged somewhere between 400-500miles in them and turned to the 38s after they dropped. The marathon was at the end of May 2021 and I used the Peg 38s for that run. Pacing was about 8min/mile and I think that was the sweet spot as far as the shoe’s speed over that distance. The react midsole seemed to keep its responsiveness throughout, and I was quite pleased with the result. Now in training for a half marathon this summer and I utilize the pegs for easier/recovery days and still enjoy them quite a bit. The endorphin speed 2’s and vaporfly 2’s are my longer run/tempo shoe and I’ll be using the vaporfly next-percent 2 for race day as I chase down that PB! Always enjoying your content Edd, keep it up!

As a heel striker the additional rear air bag in the 39's works perfectly for me. I took mine out for 14 miles yesterday and thought the shoes were great over that distance. Best version of the Pegs since the 35's IMO.

@@EDDBUD - I commented before I listened your musical choice Ed. I grew up on Neil Young. I love all his mid 70's stuff too. I remember scouring bootleg CD fairs as a teenager back in the mid '90's looking for "On The Beach" before it was officially released on CD. Back then so much of his stuff was unavailable, it was the only way to find a lot of his music in the pre-internet era. I was fortunate enough to find the "Time Fades Away" live album on vinyl around that time too. It's my hands down favourite album of his but all the stuff he released around that time was flawless. "Tonights The Night" and "Zuma" are just as good.

Same reason I immediately liked the Peg 39 - the heel cushion. Overall it's not significantly different from my Adidas Solar Boost and SL20. But in cold weather the SL20 Lightstrike feels like cork, not much spring. Good summer shoe, though. Boost is cushy but feels a bit squishy, squirmy and slow, even when my times, heart rate, etc, are the same as shoes that feel faster. The Peg 39 feels like those Adidas shoes, but with a more refined, all temperature midsole. And the outsole is better for mixed terrain, grass, etc.

I can’t wait until this is available in the US. I can’t speak for a lot of shoes because I apparently don’t have the footwear budget of a lot of commenters. My Pegasus/Saucony Ride rotation has worked wonders the last few years, even with the lackluster durability of the Ride (compared to the Pegasus). All love for the Pegasus here. A do it all shoe that will easily get you through 500+ miles and possibly 1000k. For me, the 36 was the best Pegasus for long runs. When I had the 37, I’d reach for the older 36 on the longer runs. I’ve liked the 38 for long runs (for me anything over 10mi), and I ran a PB half in the 38. The 37 was a bit off for me

I got 650 km on my first Pegasus 36. Then another 750 km on my second pair of Pegasus 36. Use it for all kind of run, easy, tempo, interval, and even marathon. It already looks beaten up but still good to use, I wanted to use it to like 850 km or more, but I'm kind of bored and want to buy a new pair. This Pegasus 39 looks very interesting, especially the all black one. Because they're simple enough to wear to my work too.

@@elgreco8074 Yes it's best done slowly. The faster shoes tend to encourage gentle forefoot landing, but you need to slowly ease into that style. Stick with cushioned shoes for a time, and then add a faster less cushioned ride into your rotation. Do shorter training runs with them (5K, 10 k max) Over time that should help improve your form, gait, and time.

For a young, light weight male runner (~ 100 lbs), might it make sense to wear the women's shoe? Do you know if the women's shoe is narrower than the men's in the same size? I can't seem to find the specs. Can anyone reading this point me in the right direction? Cheers!
