Hey Edd, glad that I watched this review. You piqued my curiosity and I ended up buying a pair in the red colour - they are terrific. A really smooth ride and I like the combination of Lightstrike and Boost foam. The upper wraps around my foot perfectly and fits true to size (I'm a US 10). I've done a 5 K and a 19K so far and I felt like I was flying - whilst there is no obvious rocker, it helped me keep a high cadence all the way through the run. Great appearance too - really stylish IMHO. A great addition to the rotation, thanks to you, Edd!

I’m so glad you got and reviewed this shoe. As an Adidas Boston lover I thought this might be a great shoe for me for racing 10K to HM if not marathon. Usually Kofuzi and I like the same shoes but he didn’t seem to think this one was different enough from the Boston to be worth it, however other reviews (probably the ones you saw) were very positive. I think comparing it to the super high-stack marathon shoes is a mistake since it’s probably geared to efficient runners who want more ground feel, stability and grip. If I get into Boston 2021 on my 2020 time, or if I have to go for 2022, I will want to try this to see if there’s enough cushion for little me (5’3”, 101 lbs.) at marathon distance. My question is whether the feel around the foot is more like the Boston than the Adios 5. I tried the Adios and there was too much material across the forefoot which irritated me. Maybe too much vertical volume there; not sure how to describe it but very distracting. I have narrowish feet too which you know by now after my comments about the Boston 8. Cheers.

There's a video from a chinese (?) reviewer that showed a disassembled Adizero Pro (and an initial review of the Adios Pro!). The lightstrike basically forms a frame around a pretty much full length Boost midsole. Its a thick frame so a decent amount of the midsole is the lighter foam.

Your review has raised my interest sir .It’s like saying adidas made a racing shoes for training, people choose Vaporfly shoes for racing cause more bouncy and softer, this adizero is lower to ground and stiffer maybe it’s a good option for training shoes like adios. Recently i think adios series is losing their competitive advantage in the game: the weight , cushion, response... so in my opinion racing shoes from both nike and adidas nike for racing while as adidas for training.

Shades in the rain? Good basic idea to keep the water out of your eyes, but you'd be better off just buying a nice cheap set of clear safety glasses: you get water free eyes, you don't lose any visibility on cloudy days, you still get UV protection and you get some serious protection if you run next to busy roads from any stray pebbles or debris. Great review! You cover the stuff relevant to runners. I do hope your site soon grows to a level you can afford to have the EDDBUD-SAW, where you cut these shoes up and tell us if the design internals make sense.

Great vIdeo Edd as always, I still have my Adizero Adios 2 and Adios 3 Aktliv shoes, both fit me well as I too have a narrow foot. Like the look of this Pro, for the very reasons you have pointed out in the vid. It goes on my sales target list to pick up later if possisble? I usually only buy when i see an occasion and have a list of shoe options to choose from, so which shoe i end up with depends on the sale opportunity and availability. So I like your ratings and you rightly pointed out training effort is just as important than buying a new shoe. Pro runners need different specs than us mortals , a lot of us will not get the whole benefit of a pro shoe as a pro will. In most sports being honest with yourself and recognising your current level is beneficial so as to chose the right gear for that level. Having said all of that its also all about the right clourway and looking good with shades on that countryside path :)
@cameronthaijohnson4 жыл бұрын
Have to agree. The reviews saying this was more of a traditional flat and overly firm are quite strange. This is certainly no firmer than the Endorphin Speed. It is less cushioned, but the ride is at least AS soft. The plate is definitely pretty flexible and has more of a flex and spring sort of ride. It really isn't that different from the flex and spring of the torsion system in other Adidas shoes. It is that flexible. It is more of a trainer like the Endorphin Speed and Fuelcell TC, but actually feels the best at easy paces due to the flexibility and more traditional geometry. I think it is plenty cushioned for the marathon. It is less cushioned than the Endorphin Speed and Fuelcell TC, but still more cushioned than the traditional racers or even lightweight trainers. Where the other super shoes are max cushioned at lightweight trainer or racer weights, this is well cushioned daily trainer levels of midsole at a lightweight trainer weight. I maintain that it is the best plated shoe for easy paces as well. Anyways, love the Idles suggestion. Great song/album. I think I asked a question in the comments about them a while back. The fact that one of them used to be a dentist and is now up on stage at concerts punking around in his underwear is great. The video with Slowthai having a blast with them while they were in Slwothai underwear was great too.

@Ryan Lindsay it is true what Eddbud explains. I know they look similar but they are engineered differently... LIGHTSTRIKE or BOOST + LIGHTSTRIKE in different configurations. They are also priced so everyone can get in on the action (entry to pro). Traditional Race Flats (0-10k) RC2.0 (entry), adios (mid), Takumi Sen/Sen (pro) Cushioned Race Flats (0-Marathon) SL20 (entry), Boston (mid), Pro (err... pro) The adiosPro is a completely new idea within the adizero Running range. That stated, they are all low stack. These do not likely appeal to all runners. But there are other adidas ranges for casual runners or slow joggers. I think adizero is about simple ambition. ✌🏽🖤🏃🏽♂️

Its a good and underrated shoe. Snugger fit than the boston. But all the better for it.

Hey Edd, great video. This has put this shoe back on my radar but I'm not sure yet if I guy like me, that runs a 10k in 45 mins, will benefit much from this shoe vs buying, for instance, the Takumk Sen (Usd 40 to 50 cheaper) or even the SL20 (USD 100 cheaper 😱), both great shoes (so you've said). I guess I'll have to wait for your vs videos to see if the Adizero Pro really worth the extra bucks.
@sneakerprofiler4 жыл бұрын
@Luis Valda the Takumi Sen 6 is not for a casual runner. It will work hard on the Achilles, the ankles and shins. It’s a 5-10k very fast shoe. The SL20 is far more forgiving and can easily go beyond 10k at a medium pace. I own and enjoy both models immensely. The Boston... also in my current rotation... may be another good option for you. I trust this helps. ✌🏽🖤🏃🏽♂️

@@sneakerprofiler thank you Armando! That's a very accurate description of those shoes. I've run in the Adios 4 and the Boston 8 and I've quite enjoyed them, but I don't know if I will be able to feel the difference between them and the Adizero Pro if I'm not, well, a Pro. That's why I think Edd's opinion with a vs video will help a lot 😮
@EDDBUD4 жыл бұрын
My good buddy Amado is spot on here. The sen 6 is the bare bones shoe for lower distance but demands focus on the running mechanics and form. A samurai shoe! The sl20 is a more “does it all” shoe. A good all rounder but master of no particular task. 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️
@sneakerprofiler4 жыл бұрын
It’s worth noting I level-upped my foot strength in the TS6 (the Samurai shoe - Nice one, Edd). I’m thin, 6ft and running most my life. I think I was destined to sample from Omori-San’s “Artisan Select” range. The TS6 led me to the SL20, the adios, the Boston and, now, the Pro. I find all his adizero runners to be End Boss battling flats with purpose-driven engineering tweaks. The TS6 and the aPro are opposite ends of a spectrum that expanded to an adi-max shoe... the adiosPro. Is it a magic gauntlet? HaHa! Have fun. ✌🏽🖤🏃🏽♂️

hey are these more cushioned than the sl20 or Boston 9? Can you still use these to train or is it racing only? If you could only choose one shoe to train with, speed work and all kinds of workouts, which one would you choose right now? Thanks Ed!
@EDDBUD4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! The million dollar question. I would steer towards the endorphin speed for a do it all shoe. But I did run the 2nd fastest time on that 10 mile route I did earlier in this shoe. The lockdown is superb in the Adizero Pro though. I was feeling tired before this run too, so on fresh legs could probably do better! I think you could do some training in it, don’t see why not. Though some slow miles for me now this week. 18 miles in the last 2 says at higher paces is a recipe for disaster! 🤣 Thanks for tuning in 👍🏼😊🏃🏻♂️

ADIDAS All Day I Dream About Shoes. How do these compare in fit to the Boston 9?
@Dave-kq9cv3 жыл бұрын
Nevermind, found a good deal and pulled the trigger, they fit narrower but i was able to squeeze my foot into it. A boston 9 size 8 fits me great. these are a bit tight but manageable but I don't think they will work for a long run if my feet swell.

Eddbud, What did you mean in your live chat when you said the Adidas Adizero Pro is the most understood shoe? I have these shoes.
@EDDBUD4 жыл бұрын
I mean that is misunderstood. People don’t get it as it’s not an “in your face” implementation of the carbon plate. A subtle and well crafted shoe. 😊👍🏼🏃🏻♂️
@willwilling47284 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the explanation. I guess I should hit the tarmac in them more often. I don't think I run fast enough to get the full benefits of these shoes.

Thanks for another insightful review Edd. How does it compare to the SL20? Given that the SL20 can be purchased for £70, will this be worth the additional cost for a tempo day or half marathon race shoe? Cheers
@EDDBUD4 жыл бұрын
A much lighter upper, a longer range in this shoe due to the boost ( which actually goes most of the midsole despite what you hear in other reviews ) and some more snap from the plate. Hope this helps, thanks for watching 👍😊🏃♂️

Hey man I’ve been wanting to buy a pair on the adidas website. I usually wear a half larger so I usually wear an 11.5 instead of an 11. Is this the right thing to do?

Hey Ed great review as usual let me give some insight on the cushioning, the entire midsole is boost, the Light Strike material that is seen from the outside is just to encase the Boost. there's literally no Light Strike use in the cushioning platform it is just for Aesthetic deception which is a shame.
