EDDBUD is one of my favorite reviewers. But just as there isn’t one shoe for everyone, it’s good to check out other channels. Each brings something to the table. I think EDDBUD hits all the important points and is funny as a bonus. Plus, the occasional music discussion is welcome.

I had to buy a new microwave oven the other day because my old one had served me well over a decade ago. My new Panasonic microwave costs less than my new pair of Superblast 2 shoes. It's a great shoe, just expensive, and Asics are doing a Nike with it by releasing limited quantities to keep the demand high and as a consequence the price high. Thanks for the review Edd.👍

I received my SB v2 yesterday. For me, in a US size 9.5 the weight is left 250.8g, right 256.g1 vs v.1 left 239.9g, right 247.0g so there is an approximate 10g weight gain which isn't much and given the stack height is still probably best in class. I attribute the weight gain to the increased outsole depth and upper changes. Like you Edd, I actually liked the v1 upper but I'm not fussed over the changes made. Whilst in v1 I think I could have gone half a size down in v2 it is definitely true to size (in my case). I would recommend going TTS. Price is ridiculous but it has become normalized now so I'm not going to continue to carry on about it. Thanks for the review Edd.

I'd guess filling in the sole to stop the stones will of added that extra weight. I use the term loosely as its not noticeable even with both in hand. My size 9 come in at 259 grams and superblast 1 are 251 grams but that's after a lot of miles so will have worn sole down.

having run in the SB1, SB2 and novablast 4. IMO my favorite is the SB2, i find the ride to be perfect for my feet (my feet are a little on the wider size although not enough to buy wide style shoes, quite flat footed and my weight 70kg). the rocker is perfect for my style of running and the lockdown is perfect. very interesting haivng watched this review and having had such a different experience in running in them hahaha

My 2 earth credits. 15:01 Got mine last Monday and 80km deep. Bit clunky at 5min/km and slower, prefer Nimbus for that. Definitely not as propulsive/efficient as a plated shoe for tempo and above, but feels really nice and forgiving up to tempo. Beyond that pace, it was OK, wasn't overly keen, but much more forgiving than keener shoes, which are much less keen at Z2. Early days, but seem perfect for 15+ km runs which include efforts at or above tempo, or long progressives. Z2 runs of any distance, I'll stay with Nimbus, and if I didn't go longer than 15/20km, then NB covers everything else outside of a dedicated fast shoe. Could not justify these if I rarely ran more than 15kms. Midfoot of the upper is not wide, lockdown not as good as Nimbus or NB (but didn't need heel lock). Forefoot upper not super secure, feels like there's either too much volume, or it's not structured enough - It's my biggest concern. Definitely a niche shoe, but it's a niche you spend a lot of time at effort in if the niche applies. Pretty much this, but with some flavour of Zoom-X, would be my dream training shoe.

Always gotta respect the EddBud reviews! You say what you believe, even if it goes against the general opinion. You’re a valuable source of honest opinion. It’s interesting that your experience with the SB2 seems very different than what all the shoetubers are saying from their initial reviews. I guess time will tell if you just need more break in time to feel what they say, or if what they say is more marketing than genuine experience.

Appreciate the honest review. I got a pair last week, I didn't get a chance to try the SB1, but I'm a big fan of the Novablast 4 - I'm on my 2nd pair. I'm a forefoot striker and only have 2 run in the SB2 so far - but I feel quite underwhelmed, on my tempo run in them yesterday I really started to wish I had my Novablasts on, it just wasn't really giving me anything much back. And at easy paces it feels terribly clunky. I really hope it breaks in a bit and I can get good use out of them.

We all wait for EDDBUD review! Loved V1- put almost 1000 Km on 1 pair and onto my second. Specifc use for me was for long marathon training runs with some goal pace. Where V1 fell short was when running light trails and gravel. I wanted to use them on a few 50 K ultra's - but with the cut outs in the outsole - it just wasn't practical.. too many hitchhikers... V2 while less versatile overall than V1- might be great for that specific use case.

Umm interesting. This is the first "Neutral" review I can recall seeing on this one and since you got sent it "for review" it rather underlines what I was on about in my latest vid. I did think if a UK 10.5 is good for you then maybe a UK 12 might work for me. ASICS of course don't make their best shoes past that for some reason so normally "am out". That said, I did have both a UK 12 and UK 13 in the Novablast 3 and both were usable but my ideal length was probably a 12.5 they don't do. Given we are normally 2 full sizes apart then sounds like I could probably run in a 12 but would probably feel just a fraction short. But then at the end if you are questioning if the Novablast 4 is more versatile than it and did I hear that the NB4 is actually lighter then am thinking that could well be a massive waste of £200 as I only found the Novablast 4 "OK" but haven't reached for it of late which is never a good sign. That is a bit of a one trick pony for me as well - easy day runs. Guess could pick up the pace in it but not out of choice when selecting a shoe to head out in for a faster run. And yet most other KZbinrs seem to be falling over themselves in praise for this SB2 and I got the impression that the Superblast 1 actually had a load of "faults" that often only seem to "surface" when a new version of a hype shoe drops.

LEAD the hype followers of V1 to immediately clear stock & £200, I paid £180 for both pairs of my V1 & that hurt the piggy bank a lot, I am looking elsewhere now. Some reviewers said not many changes, some even said very similar, some said not any increase in weight....Who to believe .. ASICS Trilology continues... BACK TO THE ASICS PT 3

@Fozzee.1970Ай бұрын
Different sizes will show different variances from the previous version. The weight difference is so minimal it's irrelevant. The SB2 fixes the issues I had with version 1. Better fitting upper (for me) with more structure in the heel giving me better stability and better grip. I think the midsole break in time will be less with this model and it feels less clunky in the heel for me. For context I'm a 98kg runner who uses these for longer tempo runs.

Where as the gen2 is just perfect balance for me out of box as if I just broken already in for 100k. I could land perfectly in the mid section and there is just nice balanced amount of bounce and plushness. I'm just happy that I found the new do it all shoe now without a plate at all. Especially since I don't like saucony's changes with the speed 4/pro 4's.(more stride and stepping power than the used roll feel, I mean you really have to work harder with those by opening up the strides and land harder to enjoy and reap the benefits than before. Never had any interest in V1 or these, far too much shoe for my taste. I an however curious about the soon to be released Topo Spectre 2. Never owned a Topo but they have sparked my interest.

Great video as always and hope all is ok. Life’s a funny old thing. The Superblast has always been a bit rich for me - I just can’t justify a training shoe that costs as much as the racers. Having said that, I can imagine these would be great for road ultras.

@@dallasmalone8 I’m in Brazil and their retail price is 285 usd here, but I’m hoping for a 190 soon, which is still outrageous, of course.

@@EDDBUD You were right, I couldn't find the V1 (they were available in tiny or huge sizings), so I just got V2. It's 290 USD in Brazil, and only available in the "Paris" colorway. Weight is a bit inconsistent (248g left/258g right) in size 9.5 US. Haven't tried it yet, but it felt very nice on the store's treadmill and looks VERY PROMISING. Anyway, thanks for the tip, Edd!

Got v1 in my rotation and only 250 miles in. Could be ironic but both my right and then left hammy went at separate occasions when using v1 to go at marathon pace as part of my longer runs. Great review though Ed

Great review, Edd, and I appreciate how you had some different takes than other reviewers! I loved my SB1 and am looking forward to the SB2 arriving soon. Went US 10 on the original and the same with the new model, so I'm hoping that still works. Also, Idles are awesome! 'Danny Nedelko' is a fave track of mine❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥

I just ran my first half marathon in them and really enjoyed them. They feel light for the huge stack you get. Could have run a bit more if I took a drink along for the run . I'm going to use this for my long runs.

Sort of off topic but If you had to pick one shoe Would you pick the Boston 12 or Deviate nitro 2 ?

Boston 12. More exciting ride

Just had my first 12k in them tonight. Really good sensations and do agree with the forefoot. It just feels more stable and more natural in the mid foot. At least for me. Plan on putting lots of miles in them for the next 5 weeks because this is the shoe i want to do my first marathon in. Will see if that still holds in a few weeks through as i'm a bit of a shoe junkie (lot's of people are as i can see).

It should be cracking for a marathon. Over 20 miles is anyone’s guess on a shoe in fairness

Picked mine up today. Had version 1. I am a bigger runner so the foam feels really good to me. 6’3 and 215. Strangely enough I had to size up from my typical 10.5 to an 11.

SB2 vs Strung 2 at the same price for 90kg runner planning to do 5:40-6:00/km pace on my upcoming HM. I have a marginally wide feet and a mid foot striker. Planning to use it for long runs and races as well. Hoping for your response. Which one would you suggest?

The adidas has a bit more going in to perhaps make for a better race option. Though it’s narrower and 50g heavier at least in my size

Hello. Superblast 1, novablast 4 and kayano30 are 47 for me. What number should I buy Superblast 2?I live in Turkey and I don't have much chance of making mistakes.

Get the v1 or novablast 4. Both are great and maybe cheaper

Hard pass for me I have v1 with about 150 miles on them, I just didn't get the hype, it's just a more expensive version of a triumph 20

The triumph was mega squashy this year. This is something else and may come into its own more as I use it

@@EDDBUD I haven't tried the 22, but I did source 2 pairs of the 21 for the cost of the SB. They will last long enough for sb3 and triumph 23 to be in the shops 😁
