Edd, We're all here to support you. We know you don't owe us any explanations. Yes, a simple "having some trouble, thank you for your patience and understanding" would be enough. I think most of us would be happy to just watch you answer viewer questions for 10-15 minutes every week, or see you take apart an old engine. Sending you best wishes and a speedy recovery from whatever life has thrown at you.

Thank you, the AskEdd’s seemed to get fast forwarded through so we figured we’d give them a rest from the episodes but I take your point, something is better than a lot of nothing. Good news is we have a number of new episodes already filmed and nearly edited so do stick with the channel. Thanks for your thoughts…

1) With respect. Please speak for yourself. I am not here to 'support him'. He is not my brother. Or my best bud. I am here to be entertained. Period. 2) Anyone who handed over money to financially support this channel - directly or indirectly - IS owed some explanation, imo. But I didn't...so he owes squat to me in this regard. The rest I agree with and think was well said (or typed). ☮

I had the V8 4.4 L322 for a number of years and changing the battery used to trigger a bunch of fault codes that required resetting the power windows and, from memory, the steering range too. When I replaced the battery the second time I kept the car electronics alive with a supply mode charger to avoid this.

Glad to see you back Edd. . Regarding the RR. I'd check the engine block to chassis earth straps. Easily overlooked and will cause all sorts of electrical gremlins as the current finds other pathways to complete the circuit. .. Few years back had a golf VR6. Occasionally it wouldn't start just click click like a flat battery.. Battery checked out ok. On closer inspection the main thick power cable to the starter terminal was corroded. Removed, cleaned up the surface corrosion and the terminal, Also did the same to the terminal on the alternator as well. greases up with some vaseline. Never had an issue after that. Started on the button. ... Its quie possible the earth straps might be corroded.... .. That starter didn't look to bad... Anyways Glad you have some videos in the bag. .. Are we going to get some disco lights and 90s techno music and dancing for the 1M subscriber celebration!! 😆

Hopefully Ebay regulates the amount of counterfeit components on sale. I had a new starter motor for a Chook Tin here - it was listed as OEM (Motorcraft) and it stated it on the tin - but it was a knockoff..... Died 2 months later. No warranty, no support, no assistance.... Ebay ghosted me.

@@harleylehmann1050 Not Edd, just saying so you get an answer. He made it private, effectively killing it. It was a bad decision on his (team's) part, it's been resolved, and that quickly enough. Apologies for this really is not required. And what good would it do anyway? Either people can understand it and move along, or they cannot. If an apology is required for your continued viewing, well, he'll do just fine I suspect without your one view. It is not like he did a truly disgusting/hideous/horrendous thing, he just made an (ill advised as it turned out) ad video. Nobody is required to watch it, nobody is bound to use the product(s) (to which I've already forgotten what it was about, so there's that), and in the grand scheme of things that require an apology? This isn't one on my list. He is trying to survive in this world, and this is the very least of the transgressions one could do in trying to make some money. I've let him off (with a warning, I did say as much in my own comment there, that if it's just an ad and no workshop content video again, that's gonna have to be it I'm afraid), and frankly, I hope it's the last we even have any commentary/discussion about it. I know I won't be commenting past this about it. You have a good day.

Try this one, garage where i worked, guy brought in a range rover for cylinder head work, and while at it, asked to check drivers door window mechanism, which eventually was changed, parts supplied by customer, eventually when engine back together and ready for start, would not even crank...eventually after going thru the entire system and garage having to borrow more upto date scan tools, there was a code in system that originated from the door window regulator that was substituted...donor vehicle had a big crash and had an accident code, which transferred to this clients vehicle which prevented the engine from starting, and needed the authorised dealer to clear that code from the system to enable the vehicle to start....who would have imagined things got to this point

Before I pressed the button on a new starter I discovered that the windscreen scuttle wasn’t water tight and the battery terminals had corroded. Everyone was quick to badmouth Mike when Edd left wheeler dealers but I'm starting to think 🤔💭 everything mike said (and he said it politely) was true. If you look at how this channel has been run... I could never work with someone who was so all over the place. No schedule, no commitment to a once started project. It feels like you started this channel to keep up funds (perfectly fine) but when an eBay deal came through and also replacing Quentin, this side hustle was no longer required. I appreciate you owe us nothing, KZbin is structured differently and you can come and go as you please. What I think you may find though is subscribers dropping away after constant broken promises of new content etc.. I just wish you could be honest and open with your audience. I don't mean about your personal life or health aspects, they are private to you. But if your heart, time or passion is not longer in this channel or simply other commitments keep you away from said channel then couldn't you just say, I hope to see you all around possibly back on TV one day but for now I'm winging down this channel. Everything that mike said seems to ring true....... Yet he seems to be the one who gets peoples fury. Anyway on the grand scheme it's only KZbin and in 2024 the least of our worries is where's edd china??!!

For anyone who`s interested, the light output on my Honda was IMO bordering on dangerous, especially on unlit A roads, a local car factors recommended Osram Night Breakers & the difference was startling, I was never off the high beams with the original bulbs but with the Night breakers I was finding myself hardly using the high beams any more, no disrespect to Ed`s choice (I have no experience of those) but, I`ll call it as I find it, Night Breakers from here on in for me!

Many years ago (late 80s). Dad had a MK4 cortina estate. One day he decided to upgrade the headlights with 80/100W dip/main halogen headlight bulbs. (Illegal now). They were super bright plus he had spotlights as well! .. I remember people flashing him at night constantly because they were so bright people thought he had high beams on.

It would be nice if he does, but he may not because of the fact that there may have been multiple reasons for why he hasn’t made an upload as often one possibly because of maybe family turmoil, or a death in the family that he is still dealing with maybe some other personal issues Due to relationship or friendship or maybe he was having some health issues himself no one will ever really know unless he specifies and I’m assuming he’s not gonna get into too much detail about what’s going on. They’re also could be a thing where the shop that he owns that he does his restorations at is struggling for funds to keep it afloat and that’s why his Videos are sparse, and he did Jess mention that he possibly had some failed MOT so he’s probably trying to sort out that situation and figure out how he can better the vehicle to make it up to the EPA standards of his country

@@Ellenslife851none of that stops him from putting up a quick community post along the lines of "really sorry it's been a while, dealing with some stuff but stay tuned" literally that's all it would take. Also here in the UK, emissions test standards are based on the year of a vehicles first registration, so no need to update anything to newer regs

Suspension faults is why I gave up on range rovers. 1999, 2005, 2010 and 2014 was my last. Now a 2021 Touareg v8 tdi and no niggly issues (yet). Loved the rangies but if they have the same issues through 3 generations then that’s enough for me to give up. At least the p38 I could work on…last 2 were dealer only jobbies because of electronics (VW will be the same as tho)

Ed. you will get suspension fault when the battery has been disconnected or gone flat. The fix is to start the vehicle and go lock to lock, this will normally clear the suspension fault.
