@eddianproject I think the band and the producers have provided the closed captions on the official live and studio videos. It is proper and logical English, not your Google guesswork crazy translation. The official CC also seem to be well placed on the screen and legible.
@olaflangness29072 ай бұрын
I might add that they like other Japanese performers often mix English into their lyrics. Miku, the main lyricist is quite good at it, making Japanese and Engish portions rhyme, and while not on the CC translation, she is known to sometimes sing a similar sounding Japanese word while Saiki sings the English word on purpose ( double entendres). They collaborate in all tasks, and Hate? Lyrics were those of Saiki. Kanami is the main writer of the melodies.

As a fellow Englishman so my opinion is valued😂 I can honestly say there are fewer & fewer promising bands emerging from the UK cos they're buried under a sea of corporate Pop & Hip Hop.😒 The music industry is geared to churning out money making ephemeral acts who only have to look good & have no real talent. Even our s'posed music talent programs, "X-Factor", "Britains Got Talent", "The Voice" are entertainment shows & the brands themselves are the money spinners, no longer the artists featured who are now mainly comedy acts for the entertainment of the viewers :(

Great reaction! Some background - normally Miku (the rhythim guitarists, background singer) is the lyricist for the band, but this song was done by Saiki, the lead singer. She is friends with a famous Japanese singer Lisa-x, who was involved in a scandal a few years back when her husband cheated on her. Saiki wrote this with him in mind. And you should go look at the lyrics, because they are BRUTAL. You can almost see like Saiki was saying 'I want to write You're So Vain - but where we spend the entire second verse talking about how bad he is in bed. ;) Don't mess with Saiki man. lol

Saiki never said she wrote "Hate?" about anyone in particular. Some fan was probably just speculating and now it's become a kind of BAND-MAID urban legend like the stuff about Jimmy Page visiting Akane backstage and telling her that she's the reincarnation of John Bonham. He did go back stage and compliment her drumming, but the John Bonham part is made up.

Great reaction to a great fun song. Yes, this song is a lot harder hitting than your first reaction to "Alone", their first song approved by the label which they wrote. They've full speed ahead and haven't looked back since. And here you have a song 6 years after the release of "Alone". Love that Master Ian was totally grooving with the song. And great breakdown Master Ed. BTW...Masters and Princesses is what the Maids call their fans. Fitting into the Maid Cafe theme image they portray. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘 As for a next song, try one of their instrumentals. "Onset" Official Live is amazing. And their newer one "From Now On" Official MV.

Having lived a decade in the Far East, and married to a Japanese for over four decades, I think what sets them apart is their teamwork, and loyalty to that team. Western musicians seem to grow further apart, want to be the center of attention, want it their way or hit the highway. Too much independence that they won't work with others, have no respect for their crew, the producers, and often no respect for the fans.

👍👍👍😄🤟 Recently, it seems that Japanese female bands are gaining popularity worldwide. Other than band-made⬇️ ◉ HANABIE / WE LOVE SWEETS ◉ LOVEBITES / Stand And Deliver (Shoot 'em Down) [Live Video from Knockin' At Heaven's Gate - Part II] ◉ NEMOPHILA /DISSENSION [Official Music Video] ◉ Gacharic Spin「MindSet」 Japanese city pop is already popular in the world.However, it seems that various genres of Japanese music are attracting attention now. The quality of Japanese music LIVE is famous for its high quality in the first place. There are many other great artists in Japan. Japan has a wide variety of music, songs, and artists. and Japanese music is very diverse. Japan's music industry has long been the second largest market after the United States . Until recently, Japanese artists had a language barrier and the Japanese domestic market was too big(The Japan music market is the second biggest in the world,) so they were not actively selling overseas, that's why most of the artists are not known outside of Japan, But Many of the songs that were hits in Hong Kong ,Korea and other Asian countries in the 1980s and 1990s were Japanese cover songs (many of them were popularized as songs from their own country). However, with the development of KZbin videos and subtitles, language barriers are disappearing. so there are still great finds. Another thing that may be helpful. In Japanese music, lyrics are an integral part of the song. They are quintessential. Recently, Japanese music videos seem to have English subtitles for the lyrics. You may find it more enjoyable to listen to the song with English subtitles (CC) .of course Not all Japanese song lyrics are translated but you may them interesting. I sometimes see people searching for Japanese music by genre on KZbin. In Japan, it is often the case that music is neither produced nor listened to by genre. That's why I think it's difficult to search for Japanese music by genre. But that is also the Characteristic and good thing about Japanese music. The live quality of Japanese music is high, It's very organised. but if you want to find Japanese music other than MVs and LIVE videos, the Japanese music content ``THE FIRST TAKE'' is a convenient way to find a wide variety of Japanese artists, a few non-Japanese artists appear. There has already been a musical instrument town in Japan for a long time.but Now, Japanese music is attracting Worldwide attention, So, Fender also sees Japan as an important base Fender's world's first flagship store "FENDER FLAGSHIP TOKYO" opened in a prime location in Harajuku on Friday, June 30, 2023. please,discover more Japanese music. Japanese music has an unknown pleasure that changes the concept of your music. maybe you already know…l recommend ◉“ One OK Rock ” very popular with foreigners. They have a lot of songs, but at first.“W e are” Especially the live version is popular to watch . ◉ONE OK ROCK - Renegades [2023 Luxury Disease Japan Tour] ◉ONE OK ROCK - I was King [Official Video from Orchestra Japan Tour] It's not rock, but FUJII KAZE has already been popular since last year.⬇️ ◉ 藤井 風 - "死ぬのがいいわ" Live at 日本武道館 (2020)/ ( FUJIIKAZE-SHINU NOGA IIWA) ◉ 藤井 風 - "まつり" Live at Panasonic Stadium Suita/( FUJII KAZEーMATURI) l hope you like them!

As you mentioned RUSH, many of us Maidiacs feel that Band-Maid are their current inheritors of The RUSH Prog-Rock Mantle. They like RUSH integrate multiple genres of music into their own unique sound. As for the music scene in the UK, I'll only say what my cousin from Scotland said back in the early 80's. My opinion is that this is my favorite performance of one of my least favorite Band Maid songs. In the USA 🇺🇸 and possibly also in the United Kingdom 🇬🇧 we’ve fallen into a creative rut, I think. Very little originality (just look at the band logos for metal groups 🙄) and every other band is named “Verb the Noun” What’s fresh about Band Maid is their fearless blending of genres and tones with a solid foundation of just plain old fun! They are serious musicians who don’t take themselves so seriously. And they genuinely love their fans. Refreshing. “Who’s Gonna Play the Piper” gives me a clue on which chapters of the Band Maid musical catalog might be the most fun for you: “Choose Me,” “the non-fiction days,” “Manners” All official music videos. Let’s gooo! 🤘🏽
