Undersized by comparison to his two nearest rivals, height wise he's about average compared to previous winners, weight wise he was comparable to Big Z in fact even heavier at points. You're right though technically he was brilliant as well.

I used to think Eddie Hall was all talk and no walk. Then I saw him almost die breaking a world record. The man is probably second only to Big Z in terms of pure strength in a static lifting event. If he were more athletic he'd be unstoppable. Also, Thor is young and has a LONG time left in the sport. Hes healthy with no major injuries yet, so of course hes cocky and entitled. Hes the young upstart who all the media swoons for. Hes also The Moutain from GoT which I'm sure isnt helping with the pressure placed on him. Snapping under the weight of stardom isnt new.

Please. The cameras caught Eddie bitching about the jumps in the Max deadlift because he didn't want to have to pull too many times. He was trying to get things bent to favor him, just like Thor did on the Viking press. He's no different: Both will do ANYTHING to do to win.
@pepparmostheelder6 жыл бұрын
Justin Paul Of course. But most contenstants dont like it when they don't get to properly "plan" their lifts on max effort. There were a lot of fuss a couple of years ago at the Arnold DL for the same reason. Brian complained at lenght about it how it was just an anoying way of doing things. Despite the fact that, if memory serves, Brian won or at least tied that year anyway on the DL. Make no misstake, as far as how the DL weights were decided at WSM17, Thor wasnt too excited about it either since it possibly forced him to do extra reps aswell as fail 1 rep. In other words, it probably exhausted his body and CNS even more. So most likely they'd both would have benefited from the classical way. It is widely accepted in the Strongman community as a "bad" system (even among the people that always win it, like Eddie) Thors viking press shenanigans was straight off breaking the rules (some argue even cheating). But complaining how the weight planning and jumps were handled is a legitimate criticism of which most of the strongman seem to agree.

Eddie's talking from raw emotion. But don't judge a person based on his reaction to losing in the despair of that moment. I agree with Eddie, the contest is over, let it go and congratulate the winner. But I missed out on the "social media" part where Hafthor went off and claimed he should have won. I've followed his accounts since 2015 and I never saw Thor ripping (or disrespecting) either Eddie or Brian. Thor wanted to make sure they were all playing by the same rules, only full reps counting. I've always heard, from everyone whose met Hall that is genuinely a really nice, humble and caring person. I must say, though, from a psychological viewpoint, that the entire belief system of 'Alpha Male' is very damaging (In fact, many hypotheses argue its inclusion as a "Syndrome"). One argument by colleagues of those opponents of it, including myself, see it as beneficial in a competitive setting. When its taken outside (of) the field of contest, though, its troublesome as it creates within the claimant an attitude of dominance. Again, which is useful in sport, but the distinction must be made on where its efficacy lies. One obviously doesn't require an 'Alpha Male' mentality in a social setting. The likelihood of confrontation is too high if one feels he must 'compete' and therein lies the problem, so to speak. Its feared the adherent will lose distinction. An interesting read is the work of Dr. Bravotiov in the Russian penal system. Hes cataloged cases where, in a social environment within the penitentiary, many so called Alphas cannot differentiate between opposing response and threat, and whose social behavior would almost completely revert to a primordial, violent state. I won't even get into the so called 'followers' & the psychological harm on the male psyche of becoming a devotee to another.

These guys that are alpha looking but really simps in Disguise give in to these women and eventually he's going to get taken for a ride I can see it coming. Don't cohabitate with these women just date them. But the problem is if these women don't get what they want which is Fame, Fortune, Cash & prizes then they'll pull out a claim against them that they did something to them. That's how it works, look at Larry's ex Larry Wheels ex. And he's with another one that will probably do the same thing to him. Walking around with her ass hanging out everywhere tattoos lips all jacked up. No different than Thor's woman. I hope I'm wrong, but the numbers don't lie. Could take 5 or 10 years. These guys that are well-known growing big these women latch onto them for a reason and it's not because they're great in bed...

Let them guys learn it all by themselves
@diamondhead54321015 жыл бұрын
@@brucepower3429 when you're high profile the women flock. , they get involved with these guys because of the high-profile status and $$. When you put them to the curb and move on to another girl they come out with I was abused by him statements and that already happened to Larry Wheels. They can't stand being put to the curb without getting something out of it. If they have children with these women they'll be screwed and pay child support because these relationships won't last. The more money they make the more they will get they'll keep modifying it. If they marry these women these women will most likely divorce them 10 years down the road or less and will most likely get alimony as well. You'll definitely fight for it and the courts will give it to them especially if they weren't working and in a lot of cases I know here in the United States they might have to pay alimony for the rest of their lives which I think is beyond Criminal. These men just don't understand the troubles that they're going to have to deal with when I get involved with these women. They all parade themselves around like hoes the way they dress and act it's ridiculous. When these guys career is no longer flourishing or they're not in the spotlight anymore of these women will move on and try to get younger men or more established guys. There's so many of them, one perfect example is Scottie Pippen and his ex.

Really, I would say the opposite, Eddie played crappy role. He barely finish in the top 3 WSM just won 1 and have a few world records. However Thor is consistently placing high and in generally better all around instead of Eddie's amazing static strength

He retired. As was his plan. Did you not see him after he won WSM 2017? He said he conquered his dream and you would not see him at WSM again. And it’s a good thing bc he damn near killed himself between that and the 500 kilo deadlift. That’s not an exaggeration. A 6.3 guy carrying around 430 pounds and lifting how these guys do year after year is an insane workload on the heart and other organs.

Sabre Tooth Thor won; WSM, Europe’s SM and The Arnold Classic in the same year. He’s won The Arnold Classic twice, and Europe’s Strongest man 5 times. Iceland strongest man 9 times consecutive. Eddie never won the Arnold Classic (which according to competitors is actually heavier and harder than WSM) once! And he never won Europe strongest man once, so no, he’s nowhere near Thor’s strongman competition achievements.

Thor surrounded himself with that scum bag Australian strength coach ( dago wanker ) who told Thor to go have a sook to the refs. Thor should get an honest team around him and keep to the Icelandic ways , act like a warrior not like some short dago from Australia. Wow some Eddie much love from a swede in Aus 💪💪💪
