Regarding the controversial comparison Eddie made that was edited out of the IFL Tv original video. It's definitely a bad look for Eddie to go that far but I don't think Eddie's intent was to offend people but more so to prove his point. They probably shouldn't have removed it so people could have seen it and made up their own minds about how to feel.

Eddie put his life on the line for strongmen 2017, I have not seen anyone like him, trying that hard and pushing his body to the limits. Maybe Ronnie Coleman is another athlet who did the same. Half Thor had much bigger body frame and as a matter of fact he's stronger than Eddie but at 2017, Eddie's motivation, dedication and sacrifice was far front of every other competitors.

Archivo yeah that judging was pretty typical for strongman. Thor lost that one but he seems he’s over that. (Side note: viking press is a horrible event for strongman. Cause strongman is getting objects from A to B without rules on how you do it. That event was bad for thor as even on other pressing events he always dips like that. Should had a log press for a reps). He still should have expected eddie to win that event as he was better at pressing. But yeah Thor may not be wrong about how the events could have been randomly changed for eddie as he was best friends with the guy making the events and judging them.

The event change is also something that other strongmen (like Brian Shaw, Eddie's friend) complained about, too. Eddie was terrible on the anchor drag in the heats and surprise, it suddenly got switched for a tyre flip in the finals. Then the deadlift for reps suddenly became a max dl. And 3 static events to begin with. I'm not saying Eddie was in on it and I'm not 100% certain there was fudgery but especially with WSM banging on about it unlike any other contest ever where every other sporting organisation would just ignore it is just making it more suspicious. Edit: I'm just gonna add to this one to not spam here unnecessarily. 7:10 WSM is a contest that survives on its name and its name only. At least in strongman circles it's generally agreed that the Arnold Classic is the better show. It's also notoriously heavier than WSM, arguably making it more of a true WSM. Granted, there are fewer athletes there. But to say nothing else matters is flat out wrong. 8:40 That's also a moot point. It was a WUS event. Everything was weighed on camera. THE most famous WSM judge who is by many considered the strictest judge and doesn't like Thor checked for everything being done correctly. They don't need to have the president there to have it be official, lol. That joke at the end was really funny.

The viking press was also added to the comp informing the athletes very late leading up to the comp (don't know what the actual event should have been). Eddi was apperantly training viking press before they informed the other athletes. !This is something I read online and don't know for shure if it's true!

I understand Eddie holding a grudge for Thor being unsportsmanlike in 2017 but sadly I think Eddie focusing on it has never allowed him to fully enjoy the win witch he fully deserved. though I can understand people saying some of the events of WSM 17 maybe did favour Eddie but being favoured in an event doesn't guarantee a win (example the plane pull was won by the lightest guy) it was still a contest of strength and I think the win was fair. Regarding the boxing. I'm no expert, I think Thor slightly takes it in stamina also Thor does seem to have a better technique but Eddie looks more intense, more powerful while training and watching Eddie for a while, he really seems to dedicate himself and literally give it his all. Eddie's said he's had fights in the ring with Pros (not sparing). He would of been stupid not to of had and Eddies not stupid when it comes to training. He's just not showing them witch is smart. Also understand people saying Thor has more in ring experience. Also I think Eddie is the type of guy who actually been in real street fights ( used to be a doorman) I know that doesn't necessarily translate to the ring , but it wouldn't surprise me if Thor has never been in a real fight (outside of the ring) I'm a little biased towards Eddie but definitely don't condone he conduct. Serious question though has there been any good Icelandic boxers? I can think of several British ..... But overall it's a tough one to call. their both incredible athletes who have incredible accomplishments. Whoever wins ...they deserve it ... No excuses

Eddie lost to Thor many times and always gave him a huge congrats and held his hand up to the crowd, talked about how amazing of a competitor he was ect. It was clear that it hurt Eddie that Thor didn't do the same for him when he won. I think if it was just that, Eddie would have moved on but Thor spent the next 2-3 years talking about how Eddie won by cheating and he was colluding with Colin and WSM. It got to the point that Thor said he would never compete in strongman ever again because of how he was "robbed" of his title in 2017. They've both talked shit and made it a bigger deal. Neither one is "in the right" on it. Should be a hell of a show Saturday though!

@@curvinh6289 ok I'll look logically at it as I believe Eddie would have been a threat to Thor, not saying he'd win, but definitely poses a threat. Assuming he'd make it to the finals, the frame carry, Eddie does well, possibly placing better than Thor as Thor was the slowest of the 4 to complete the event in time. Next up, car deadlift, definitely Eddie wins, he was a much better deadlifter at the time. 3 event, max overhead press, again Eddie's win, at the time held world records in the axle press and can imagine him beating 205kg and Thor not getting much more than that. Bus pull is a toss up between the 2, only a second between them the year before but I would put Thor in 2nd Eddie in third. The loading race is Thor's and eddie I would place around the 34 second mark, putting him in 3rd or 4th leaving the stones. Now way of working it out, I think that would have left them around 1 or 2 points between them. They were very evenly matched at that time it all just depended on that 1 day

I don't think Eddie cheated in 2017 WSM. But, Eddie does not even come close to Thor in terms of records. Thor placed 2nd in 3 and 3rd in 4 WSMs and won in 2018 out of the 9 WSMS he competed. Won 3 Arnold's and won 5 Europe's. While Eddie participated in 6 WSMs and didn't qualify in the 1st two and placed 6th, 4th, 3rd and finally won in 2017. Never placed even top 5 in Arnold's, never won Europe's. I don't even know why he is all that famous in strongman community. I mean people keep mentioning him along the same lines as Brian Shaw, Thor and Big Z. Why? I wouldn't even put him in the top 20 greatest strongmen. He won WSM once out of nowhere and that kind of makes it suspicious. Not that I think he cheated, but it does seem out of place. Sure, Big Z was done by then and Shaw was getting a bit slower. And it was the perfect timing for Eddie to take the podium. Thor was struggling a little bit too. So, Eddie did get lucky that way. Cause literally nobody else was there to challenge him. I don't believe Eddie would have won another WSM after that, which is why he retired immediately. Thor should just remain calm in the ring and put his training to effect. Remember the basics. Eddie may think he is getting into Thor's head. But quite frankly Thor owns a lakeview apartment in Eddie's head since 2017. He's gonna come swinging and try to take his revenge, that's for sure.

Sad thing is, Eddie is using the "charity card" to palm of as better, it's strategic passive aggressive egotistical games, it DOES NOT define Thor, and for the record I am pro the better boxer on the day, this is not sticking up for either contestant. When these two started, my Son and I lost an enormous amount of respect for the strong man realm, Eddie and Thor were heroes, only now they are being displayed as little school yard boys fighting for marbles. Most of the time I had the impression Eddie was more emotional than Thor, in this interview though Thor had more emotional outbursts and looked less collected (at least in this video cut). I'm not particularly fan of any, I just find interesting the whole situation.

As a fan of strongman, I feel like Eddie was very disrespectful during this interview. He disrespected every promotion that wasn’t World’s Strongest Man and every athlete who competes in them by saying nobody cares about them. He implied that Magnus Ver Magnusson was “bullied” into officiating Thor’s 501 kg deadlift, as if he has no agency of his own. He disrespected Martis Licis by impling that losing to him would be embarrassing. This is despite Licis having a more decorated record in strongman than Eddie, having just won every major competition at least once with his recent victory at the Arnold Strongman Classic. He disrespected Rogue by speculating that they, an incredibly successful fitness company, would jeopardize their credibility by fixing the weights for Thor’s 501 kg attempt. He disrespected Devon Laratt when he referred to him as an “old man”, as if he didn’t give a respectable effort against a larger, younger, more experienced opponent on 5 weeks’ notice. I just can’t imagine Eddie from 2017 saying all of this. Not sure what’s changed, but I’m really disappointed in his behavior here.

he speaks out-loud what everyone else thinks. he has respect for the other promotions, Arnold is his hero, but it is 100% true that the only thing people will pay attention to in 100 years is who won ‘The Worlds Strongest Man.’ he is speaking from a place of authority, as he lived and breathed the sport for his entire adult life. he’s not some random guy talking shit. he also has great respect for Devon and is friends with him, just watch his videos. and he clearly said in the full interview that he doesn’t think Rogue are a corrupt org, just that it’s not right they were the ones who sponsored the lift and then supplied everything. that is rightfully questionable. that entire 501kg BS is laughed at in the strongman community, you’ll probably know that yourself.

Am I expected to believe that Eddie has inside pacts with all parties so that he can insult Thor? It seems to me that he is merely being disrespectful here. Also the 501 kg is not laughed at in strongman. Thor has the official record and it's very easy to verify this. Your comment makes me worry that you have a distorted perception of Eddie's accomplishments as a strongman. He has won 3 international contests while Thor has won 28. If anyone has the right to be talking about strongman at that table it's Thor, and he didn't disrespect a single person other than Eddie.

Eddie was actively supportive of Thor every time he beat him in a competition, whereas the one time he beat Thor(fair and square) to win WSM, Thor’s true character showed. he did not mistakingly think he got cheated out of a win, he blatantly lied in order to discredit Eddie because he’s a very sore loser. that is genuinely one of the worst things a man can do morally. he is literally known within the industry as being a Diva, way before WSM17. the man that brought Thor into the sport and taught him for years has even turned his back on him after his actions. and the 501kg record is not respected within the industry, i do not know where you are getting your information from haha.

Did Thor take the viking press (although that's not the only point to be made there) in a bad way? Yes. Should he have argued over it at the time?
