A Great thing that had not been shared in this great video, is the fact that, Eddie Johnson led my school, Flagler Palm Coast High School, to a State Championship, and becoming the #1 High School team in the nation in the year 2000. Eddie Johnson, is truly the best athlete to come from the Bunnell, Palm Coast, area. He is a benchmark for what his former team, my current team, aims for. Eddie Johnson is, and forever will be an FPCHS Bulldog.

pay to play football O_0 In austria every fucking village has a team and a pitch and every young boy or girl can play for their local team. Seeing this really makes me appreciate the things that most of the people here take for granted.

fgbanana In my country we Nigeria we love soccer alot. Especially from the part of the country i am from. I am now in the United states of America and most people i see playing soccer are Hispanics and they are good tbh. If they had the type of equipment you guys had over there they would appreciate it everyday. Most people don't know the importance of something until they lose it. In my country we appreciate everything that we have because we believe it could be taken away from us anytime.

Beautiful story! Thank goodness for the benevolence of Dustin Sawyer and his father, and for the courage Eddie Johnson and his mother showed until that big day 2001 Dallas Burn selected him and in return he became their leading scorer! Ooo that goal they showed was nice! Kansas City Wizards > Fulham. Not to mention 2006 World Cup. Missed 2010 but that resurgence @ Seattle is beyond belief! That header goal... how is that possible! Eddie helps qualify the men for the 2014 world cup, and Sigi makes a good point about not a lot of inner city kids getting a chance at this game.

It just shows how people don't give football(soccer) a chance in the U.S. because everyone wants to be Lebron James and Michael Jordan. Look at England, they produce great talent in a relatively small country because Football is their main sport. There are so many kids that can be like Eddie but aren't exposed or given the chance. I hope Eddie has a happy retirement =)

MLS need to get them inner city boys out of the hood. The moment more african americans go pro and make name and money is the moment soccer will explode in the US. MLS needs players like Lukaku and the NFL types.

Define "african american", because you have lots of people with african immigrant parents and american citizenship, who play soccer like Oguchi Onyewu and Maurice Edu
@prmoseley10 жыл бұрын
Yeah because MLS teams care what race you are. What an extremely racist comment. It has nothing to do with getting "boys out of the hood". It's about getting the best talent possible. If they happen to be African American then so be it, but if they're white then so be it. As long as they have talent then MLS teams will pick them up.

I agree with you. He would have been a perfect back up for a potential Jozy altidore injury and had so much familiarity with the team during qualifying. People speculate it was his attitude relative to the rest of the dressing room, but I can't see him being that bad. He's no Jermaine Jones when it comes to leadership/team oriented attitude, but he cannot be that bad.

To be fair he has great potential but it shows at the time the difference between English and American football when he got loaned out to my team Preston North End he was useless i mean awful. But going back has done him wonders and in a few years he could return to a mid-table team and score goals but all he needs to do is be smart about his career and not jump whenever a club come running.
