Eddie Kramer Is Responsible For Robert Plant Nickname Percy Plant - Sirius XM

Edwin H. "Eddie" Kramer was born on 19 April 1942, in Cape Town, South Africa. He is a recording producer and engineer. Kramer has collaborated with several artists now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. These include the Beatles, David Bowie, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, the Kinks, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, the Rolling Stones, Rob Chapman and Carlos Santana.

Actually that solo was by Vic Flick who was a friend of Jimmy because they'd play together on sessions along with another guitarist Big Jim Sullivan (which would end up with Page getting the nickname Little Jim Pea) who was the signature country solo guy while Vic Flick and Jimmy were the guys for pop. But for the blues and RnB they'd use Page like in the song With A Little Help From My Friends by Joe Crocker where Page is using a Telecaster guitar and his Supro amp that he'd use on Led Zeppelin 1

not ot poke holes on EDDIE KRAMER,but RICHARD COLE said ROBERT PLANT got his nickname PERCY from that bloke PERCY THROWER who was a horticulturist and the ZEP roadies complained that they were BORED betwen gigs and sitting around watching PLANTS grow all day on a TV show in the UK. O ne cat quipped, heck we watch PLANT grow everyday as an artist musician. one guy goes hey what a great nickname. PERCY!!!!! Its been used ever since.

Nope. The UK music press nicknamed Plant 'Percy' after the film starring Hywel Bennett about a man who has the world's first penis transplant. According to Wikipedia, the film came out in 1971. Eddie's probably getting his own back for the story in Zep biog 'Hammer Of The Gods', where he was trying to shag a woman in a hotel and various LZ guys kept interrupting by throwing buckets of water over him (or, in Bonzo's case, barging in and flashing them). no, just the video, and robert probably had to lips sync his live performance of madison square guarden BUT just for the video, not the sound and only on a few segments. they didn't have the image but they had the sound on those few missing part.

Percy is also slang for 'penis' as in the euphemism for going to the bathroom ' I'm going to point Percy at the porcelain'. Since Robert was well known for his tight revealing trousers, his seductive ways and his raunchy lyrics, it seems an apt nickname in that way also.
