People really forget that this guy was the first black actor, a comedian no less, who burst onto the scene and somehow gave out the highest grossing film of the entire year. This is a watershed moment. This wasnt an ensemble or a supporting role. This wasnt even a high concept or special effect extravaganza. This was an "Eddie Murphy vehicle". For once, it was shown that someone who wasn't white could indeed have their coloured face plastered on a poster and make the biggest movie of the year, sold by their raw talent. This was the first time that had ever happened. The biggest movie of the year, and the star isn't white? Its some young guy? A brown skinned dude?? This opened so many doors for so many other actors and films to be made and this is never talked about enough.

One of my favorite Eddie Murphy movies that no one ever mentions is *"1000 Words.* I love it. Beautiful, a little kooky, but the acting skills needed to pull that off was epic, and Eddie did it. Some peoples maybe forget or ignore it but in 80's he had the world in his hand ,he was among the most bankable actors or comedians of Hollywood . As a black, he was a real trailblazer who started his brillant way to the success only at 22 years old Incredible! The only regret that I have is about him never came in Africa, I think it's very strange for a actor who played Hakeem in "coming to America" but maybe he gonna change it. I hope so. I'm also so happy to see him proud to be the father of 10 kids as many African men are 😂😂. Thank you for sharing this video 👍👍👍

Eddie was so funny in everything he did, his stand up specials were hilarious, but I remember him the most because of his movies, specially Beverly Hills Cop, those were mad funny. I remember me and my friend would try to low key imitate him when he did his fake impersonations, he got away with everything, on camera of course, but he was hilarious and still is, so this to me is well deserving.
