Omg they played the music from Beverly Hills Cop when he came out-that was cool 🤣 I have always loved Eddie Murphy. He’s my favorite SNL player of all time, and I grew up on Eddie; he was just OUTSTANDING AND HYSTERICAL on there, he created the greatest characters and arguably was the greatest all time on SNL. His stand up was groundbreaking, laugh out loud funny, and pulled no punches, then became legendary. His movies from Coming To America to Trading Places to Beverly Hills Cop and The Nutty Professor were phenomenal then became iconic. There would be no Chris Rock, no Dave Chappelle without Eddie Murphy. And the fact that he’s such a nice, humble, genuine person in real life, and fame never went to his head (and that Bill Cosby always hated him and chastised him cause he cursed in his routines, and look what Cosby did-can you get your head around that kind of hypocrisy??) just makes you love him even more. He is one of a kind. A living legend. And personally, I am so stoked that he’s doing stand up again and has finally made Coming To America 2. Can Not Wait!!!!❤️

A man at peace with himself. That’s what I got from this interview. It usually stems from someone who has come a long way and is very accomplished...

You hear his age more than see it. Both the increased wisdom and the soft and whispery dad tone.

Eddie is just a really cool, dope person. Love that he keeps dodging Colbert's lame question giving his young self advice: in the end, your advice is only as good as you own perspective and life experience, which are wholly unique.

@@jaimedelgado7529 you may like it. I didnt like all the newbies. Wesley and Antonion Banderas were so damn good! altho, of course, there was stunt doubles, he still trains and still has skills. He was the comedic relief when Terry Crews schedule was busy

Eddie Murphy has a voice. A voice we would all love to hear. For his personal reasons he has not chosen to use his voice for a decade or two. I don't know why. I don't question his reasons, but if he decides to speak again, I'll listen to him. I'm sure there's wisdom in his head that will help us all. Introducing him as a 'legendary giant' probably triggered his humble-bone, and probably didn't the tenor of the interview.

A string of bad movies topped off by getting caught with a transvestite hooker is why. Funny how the thing that sunk his career is now common place. If he had a relationship with a guy in drag nowadays he would be held up as some kind of gay hero. But in the 90s it was a final nail in his show-biz coffin.
