This is awesome! Aside from all of the superlatives you can use to describe Eddie's playing, you can see his humbleness and grace as the singer tries to highlight Ed by saying "What about this guitar player...?" and Eddie, being Eddie, points to the accompanying guitarist and not himself. Everyone's eyes are on Eddie and he points them towards his band-mate. Classy.

He brings a keyboard sensibility to fretboard performance. Years of classical piano lessons informed his style as much as rock & roll ever did. His keyboard licks on JUMP reflect same style of finger motion as he applies to tapping.
@KBizzy3 жыл бұрын
I’d say that ‘I’ll Wait’ is a bit more related to his guitar playing style than Jump. He did have a real distinct keyboard style though, and he doesn’t get enough credit for that.

@@KBizzy similar presentation of keys-synth in both songs... sounds like the same chordal progression too, in one portion. Both compositions come from an identical inspirational source. Same vibe in many respects.

Wow, just true brilliance and mastery! His spirit lives on through KZbin and other social media. he is almost a messiah to his followers. Thank god we have all this on video and audio. Remember music how it should be remembered with emotional connection.

I remember those years Ed really hit rock bottom. His drinking was at its peak and he was dis shoveled and a mess at events like the NAMM show and others. In the years after he really cleaned up his act was looking and sounding great. RIP EVH. Still the undisputed King.

It's interesting to see the covers of songs that Eddie has done and I'm sure more will appear. It's sort of a testament to the kind of music that fueled him, inspired him, blazed in his core, and inspired him. He's unmatched for enthusiasm with a constant grin on his face. It's obvious that music was his language. Even in 'party mode', he's a beast on the guitar.
