@@volt8ge Live without a net was shot on film. It's on 16mm film. Two songs (Love Walks In and Best of Both Worlds) were broadcast live to the MTV awards on one of the 2 nights of filming, that was on video and looks like video. The VHS and DVD are from the 16mm film prints.

Why was Eddie the best rock guitarist? When you watch this video, if you are a fan of rock, I challenge your jaw not to drop to the floor in awe. Great composer. Great performer. Great riffs. Great energy. Great connection with the rest of the band. Looks like he is in heaven playing that guitar. He was truly the guy that every guitar player wishes they could even be half of.

Far too much tapping for my liking. He was amazing and innovative but the tapping really annoyed me after a while. His swing, sound and rhythm playing were top notch but live I prefer Randy Rhoads, especially when it comes to solos and fills

Well, in a book, Sammy Hagar told EVH's guitar had to be tweaked in the studio for parts of the live album Right Here, Right Now. Apparently he had difficulty keeping his axe in tune for some tracks those particular nights.

Sammy was like 40 here. And dancing around like a 15 year old while bringing top notch pipes to the microphone. Absolutely incredible. Alex absolutely beating the hell out of those drums, Eddie being peak Eddie, and Michael being the rock foundation with probably the best backup voice in all of rock. Just an unstoppable force back then.

What's really incredible is how Eddie creates such a full band sound when playing rhythm, essentially on his own. Hard to believe it's just that guitar, a bass, and drums. And so damn clean. Even live. That's his true gift, imo.

Man, I keep going back and forth on who I like more Sammy or DLR. The more I listen, with intent, Sammy takes it. Roth was/is a one of a kind performer, but Sammy was/is a true musician. I saw the best of All Worlds tour 2 months ago and Sammy was incredible. All they guys were awesome, Micheal, Jason and Joe. I was transported back to the 80's and loved every minute of it. Sammy just announced they will be back touring next year, I will be there.

I remember being so pissed off that VH had split up. Left us high and dry and I was very reluctant about Sammy coming in and the big change. I bought the album and loved the music. But it took 2 albums to accept the fact that’s what it was. But Sammy came in and did a helluva job and this live performance had alit to do with winning me over. Great times RIP Edward!

I just sold one of the best 32" flat screen CRTs ever made...A Toshiba 32AF43 and replaced it with a cheap Insignia 32" LED. The Toshiba had a better picture from 4 feet away. Gotta trash it and get something better. BTW, the first HDTVs were CRTs.

My favorite band of all time ,never managed to see them live only DLR such a shame but they rocked whoever sang for them i miss them what a band ❤
