I won't lie, given the controversy. If she wins, eurovision genuinely might not continue after this year. The controversy would be that bad (not saying I want it, or not want it to happen. But if it does happen, that's what might happen)

There were minor clashes between Israel and Hamas/PIJ in the months proceeding the event, but it went on as planned. When they hosted in 98’ the political landscape was soooo different and it really looked like we’d get a two state solution out of it, even after YItzak Rabin was assassinated and Netanyahu rose to power. The event went on as planned. However, unless serious changes happen in the next year (aka Netanyahu is ousted, the war ends and viable peace talks resume), I do not see how Eurovision could possibly take place in Israel. Israel, Tel Aviv especially, is largely very safe, but I think many countries broadcasting stations would not be able to find a singer to represent them or just be unwilling to send anyone to a place that is like 50 miles from an active war zone. There’s no way any security guarantees could be made to participates and visitors if it were to draw a large crowd, because while Israel has incredible defense systems, they can and have been hit by rockets from a number of countries. Sorry for the long comment, but I’ve been wanting to discuss this with someone, even though I don’t think she will win lol.

Haha we meet again thanks to KZbin algorithm :) I'm probably biased but I think it was the best song of the second semi final (I didn't watch the first one). I feel like this song - the sadness and the screaming represents how Israelis feel for the last 7 months. We are still broken. I know the world's attention shifted to the sufferings in Gaza and I understand it, I wouldn't dare to deny the suffering of innocent people in Gaza. But we are still broken. I don't think outsiders can understand it, what happened to us. And still happening, since the hostages are still there, and the rockets keep flying on us. It's all so horrible. I envy people in Europe who don't have to live through stuff like this, and judge from the comfort of their lives, having never heard sirens in their life. OK I digress. What a horrible time.
