As an Israeli, I just had to pause and say thank you. Yes- this song is about our pain. And after everything that has happened and now more then ever- we will not keep quiet. How much more can our people take ? Thank you for understanding that the only reason someone would call this song “political” is because they have something against us, against empathy towards our people, who are in great pain, and suffering. This song is a cry about all of the hurt we have and are suffering. Entire families were wiped. Burned. Mutilated, shot. 133 sill kidnapped and each one of them is a world in its own. It’s so refreshing to hear some love and a bit of empathy amidst all this hate- we just want to live. And like Eden said in the song-“Never Again”. עם ישראל חי❤

@DavidSH19538 ай бұрын
Agreed on everything. The reason this song was disqualified is cuz it represents this horrible time that the Israelis are going through after the October 7th massacre... simple as that! Apparently, if you are an Israeli you're not allowed to sing about your pain and grieve. Every time I listen to this performance I'm amazed to see what an excellent talent Eden Golan has.
@Yoni20288 ай бұрын
I really appreciate your message. Sadly it feels that ppl have lost their emathy 😢 I saw how Eden went down the stairs after she sang it at the rally. She was completely shaken. She sang with all her hart and moved an entire nation . She is only 20 and has such maturity and wisdom that reflects in her singing . The way she manged to stay strong through all the bullying on Eurovision stage is admirabl. Hope that we all can go beyond our zelous nature and return to basic sense of humanity.

There was nothing divisive or political about that song, just hurt, about a terrible and traumatizing terror atrocity, which wasn't even named throughout the song, just the pain and agony. I guess some people don't want to be reminded (or have to look into the mirror) about the ugliness of their baseless hatred. However, assuming that the EBU is not one of those people, it's incomprehensible that they caved in and labeled this song "divisive" and "political". Shame on them, and thank you Meka for calling it out.
@tinakaminski10348 ай бұрын
I have listened to the original "Hurricane" song countless times and completely agree with you that it is not political or divisive. The song is a beautiful, sad, and deeply painful testimony of a brutal massacre against innocent people. She is 20 years old and, as almost 100% of Israelis, lost someone on October 7th. My heart and my prayers go to the Israelis that lost their loved ones, sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, and friends. And for the hostages, babies, children, women, men, and elderly that were and still are tortured, raped, starved, deprived of basic human rights, and even of the sunlight. May God bless them, give strength and comfort, courage, and hope to keep surviving until they are back home. Amen

The Eurovision didn't dare to stand against the anti-Israeli critics. At the same time, they also couldn't remove Israel from the contest (since Israel didn't break any rule by the union like Russia did for example) so they did something in the middle: disqualified the song and allowed Israel to participate with different lyrics.

Thank you for having empathy ♥ Personally I think having the song censored was a blessing in disguise, because it allowed our side to shine and get the message across, even without addressing the war directly. Luckily people saw through the masks of the "peace loving" Europeans and were on our side. You were right on the money with your last statement - people are starting to see the through the pro-palestinians' fake empathy and it bleeds.

Thank you so much for listening and understanding. Eden truly acted like the only adult during the Eurovision. She was mature, collected, graceful and everything we want to see from a candidate who is internationally competing. This is a girl that only 2 years ago had to ask her teachers for permission to go to the restroom. And she was acting more like a grown up than the 37 year old demon Ireland sent. Even if Eden didn’t get 1st place, she was the real winner
