MGSV: Phantom Pain - Molotok-68 Sniper Rifle (Metal Gear Solid 5)

Molotok-68 Sniper Rifle is a Grade 9 already suppressed sniper rifle in the game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. It is one the hardest guns to develop because of the high 128 Combat Unit level requirement. You need 4 FOBs and fill the Combat Unit platform with S, and at least half with S+ and S++ soldiers. Video shows how to use tricks to quickly get 128 Combat Unit levels by sorting, moving, and arranging your Mother Base staff in order meet the development requirement to start developing the Molotok-68 sniper rifle. After it is developing, you can auto sort and put your staff back in original order. The Molotok-68 sniper rifle comes with a permanently attached silencer (which can't be customized), and the strange thing is that the suppressor (SUP) doesn't show up when you are viewing the rifle. Later in the video, you can see a method of setting your security level to use the best equipment, then infiltrate your own FOB with the Molotok to do training (and test your defenses). The Molotok can easily take down two guards wearing Grade 8 Battle Dress in a single shot because it is Anti-Materiel, so it is considered the best and most powerful sniper rifle in the game at this time.

Hi Edepot thanks for your help! A Question. My security unit and combat unit are both ranked up to s, s+ and s++ I'm 2 levels away from being able to develop the Molotov-68 but I can no longer get s+ or s++ solders for this event. What should I do? Why do they take away the s+ and s ++ after a point in fob missions?

They don't want you to get too many s++ too fast, which makes you too powerful too fast, which makes you unlock too many things too fast, which makes you reach the ending to fast. When a country's military gets too powerful it starts looking for war to feed that military. It becomes a hammer looking for nails. Snake is not a carpenter, so that means you got to slowly work your way up.

Anything higher than grade 7 uses quite a bit of resources. I'll only really use such things once I dev the 4th FOB and research all I possibly can first. Cause once that's finished, there's no reason not to use Mats on excessive things lol.

It depends because I'm a Non-lethal type of operative in Metal Gear Solid games (it's why I love them) so if I have the Brennan LRS, I wouldn't need the Molotok-68, I'll just want it BUT if it cannot be customized (can't change its color) then I wouldn't want it either.

Hello there. Thanks for all your videos, my MGSV playthrough was a lot more smooth now. But those videos talk about weapons (like the grenade launcher that launches cluster grenade) with yellow research tags concerned me, and I come here to ask for your suggestions. My playstyles are mostly non-lethal so my load-outs are usually nonlethal weapons, and not a big fan for PVP. But recently I found an assault rifle with lv 3 suppressor (which has yellow research tag), I want that suppressor on my other assault rifles but the research cost and requirements of R&D and support unit level is ridiculously high. I don't know if I should pursue the research. If I do, can I achieve it with one FOB? I had one but it can barely reach units required level, and the online event point exchange limits the S+ and S++ personal I can get. Do I need another FOB? The next question is about GMP and resources. constructing additional FOB platforms and research equipment with yellow tags requires lots of resources (for example, the 4th R&D platform in my FOB requires 72000 fuel and common metal). I noticed that in this video you have sufficient GMP to conduct research. Can you tell me how to gain GMP and resources fast? I have seen videos talk about that but these don't work in 2020. The last question is about the online FOB event. I usually just do easy or normal difficult missions, but hard difficulty mission is...challenging. In the latest event, in hard difficulty, guards are wearing helmet and battlesuit, which means I have limited options for a non-lethal takedown (non-lethal shotgun or CQC, tranq gun is no use against heavy armor). I have lots of options for the lethal approach but it will fail the "perfect stealth" task. Do you have any suggestions for this one? Thanks again.

Every weekend get the free FOB coins. You should get enough FOB coins to buy the 4 Extra FOBs, which will allow you to upgrade all platforms to max. This allows you to research everything and get automatic resource generation for regular deployments. The next step is to do tricks on most of the FOB events. Search "edepot FOB event" on KZbin for those tricks.

As you said I am collecting FOB coins and may take another couple weeks to reach 600 so I can purchase my second FOB. my current base development level is 85, and it will automatically generate around 1000 fuel resources (I spent a lot for FOB construction) during a certain time. What level should I get for now to get faster resource production? By the way, the FOB online event has exchange limits, which means I can only exchange S++ or S+ personal for certain times (after 5~6 times I cannot exchange elite soldiers for the same unit such combat or support unit).

I'm 6 months late but if it's still useful, you can replay the mission Code Talker to farm S staff, all you need is Fulton DD. Keep in mind that you can only extract 98 soldiers. If you extract more, the mission will be rendered unbeatable, since Code Talker counts as an extraction.

There are only three settings. The guards choose what to use. Long range includes sniper and missile launchers. Middle and short range will include their respective types. They will use the highest weapons you have developed according to your grade settings. The weapons must have "greenish" title in your development menu, only those will be used by guards.

Replacing low level with high level S+/S++ is only the first part (which you do over a period of time). Once you have enough of them, you can pool all the high level S+/S++ from OTHER platforms into the platform you want to have a very high level. For example, you might have a S++ in Medical (with S+ in Combat Unit). You would move that soldier to Combat Unit to use the S+. After you reach enough development requirement, you develop the weapon. Then you can move the soldier back to Medical because once a weapons is being constructed, it DOES NOT NEED requirements to be met to continue developing until it finishes.

When you try to develop the rifle, it will tell you the requirements. For example, it may need certain value of combat rating or defense rating, etc. Then you put enough of those soldiers that contributes to the combat rating or defense ratings, etc on your Motherbase and FOBs. If you have enough, you can develop the weapon. Each weapon grade needs different ratings. Sometimes S, S+, S++ ratings in soldiers helps enormously. Note that you also need the right amount of resources to develop it as well. In the end it is worth it because you want all weapons in the game

Bigjoe980's game corner i understand that completely. i was pretty much asking because statistically its not much better than the other 50, but it wouldnt be the first weapon in this game to have a hidden advantage like the air-s stun shotgun. that and i was trying to justify attempting the daunting feat of building it. and more or less considering its cost per use vs the other one i guess. like, ***** has clearly mastered this game(probably more than once over). so had they been like *"oh, no this was just for the vid, i totally use the serval over this every time"* or *"this gun is so amazing it shoots actual big bosses that then shoot roketo puuuunches at the things youre shooting at, and they even consulted with michael bay to make the explosions awesome enough. stand in awe"* id have responded appropriately. when they said "it shoots diamonds" i was legitimately asking "really", lol. this game does stranger things. and has kojima logic ***** does amazing vids. i have been watching their stuff pretty much since i picked up mgs. thank you for all the content!

If your playing on modern devices such as Xbox one ,ps4 and pc and you are connected online you can do challenges that give you a ton of money usually like 1 million and above so deployment costs are nothing to worry about. I kinda think Konami ruined the whole grind system in mgsv because they added the challenge reward system in single player.

For FOB weapons and stuff, no. Any item with the yellow/gold background will continue to develop while you're offline the same as online Dispatch Missions. For normal weapons then yes, they only develop while you're playing.

don't even bother unless you need to have revenge on some other virgin slayers FOB, for the 5 or 6 people who still do it. For single player use the guns by glecas mod on nexusmods. It's free and although it doesn't let you use it online it makes the molotok look like a gun water gun. The range, impact force, damage and penetration are all maxed out, you get over 100 bullets with you, your suppressor never breaks and you can attach just about any under barrel add-on to your gun. Plus this mod puts your load out down to a laughably small 100gmp or so.
